Im not normally a fan of boxers who 'go through the motions' with no intention of winning but i must take my hat off to Ryan who i admit is a local lad to me.
he has had to deal with the emotions of the injury sustained to Jonjo Finnegan in a fight, but Ryan has now come out and decided to go down the 'contender and not pretender' route.
From britains busiest journeyman over the last couple of years ryan is now going to show his potential and chase some domestic honours. He retained his title last Fri night in Newark with a 1st round KO!
Perhaps a place in the next SM prizefighter beckons or a fight with someone like Wayne Reid?

Hope he has turned the corner Rhino.
Probably the most frustrating lad ever to train at Dave Coldwell's.
However there's a long way to go for me.
Funnily enough his name came up in a discussion about Prizefighter last night.
Ryan had lost to 5 of them not faced the other 3 !

I wish the lad well, but think people are getting carried away, hes beat Finnigan twice, whos average at best&the chap he beat the other night had been stopped twice in the 1st round..no doubt once he boxes someone half decent he will lose&slip back into the journeyman roll yet again...

The truth Rhino ?
I don't think any of them - but hey I'd loved to be proven wrong.

Ryan has never trained at mine mate.
I've never had anything to do with him other than have him as an opponent on my shows.
By the way, always been a fan of his attitude going in against the home fighters.

Judging by the way Ryan survived easily against Buglioni etc, i would love him to 'go for it' a bit more in future bouts, defensively he is decent, posesses a bit of power to when he lets his shots go but needs to shorten them a bit, a bit too 'roundhouse' at the moment.
but lets give him some credit if he is deciding to go down the 'honest' route, personally i think its refreshing.

Nothing to do with 'pissing on anyones fire' mate, just pointing something out!rhino222 wrote:oops..... looks like DC just pissed on your fire 26!d wrote:???twenty six wrote:Hope he has turned the corner Rhino.

I swear I thought he'd done work down at Dave's in his early days.
Alzheimers really kicking in now.
Listen Rhino, if that deserves being pissed on I'd be drenched to the bone over the years.
I've told you about spending too much time with Spud
