Carruthers got in because he had taken a Matchroom fight at short notice and Larry E seemed to get in on the back of tickets sales.
Yeah heard Larry management were confident he would win and he was allowed in on the condition he sold 400 tickets which he duley did

It makes good business sense to put larry in if it's true he had to sell 400 tickets, but it's still not right he won that fight, just watched it again and how anyone could give larry the last round is wrong! Anyway end of moan and move on :box:

I was quite entertained with some of the scraps last night.
But i wasn't hugely impressed with the line up.
Its always more interesting when you have a stronger line up

Perhaps we were slightly spoiled with the line up for the superfeatherwieghts, Matthews, flannagan, sykes and crolla among some other guys with decent records.

In comparison, there were one or two journey men and novices last night. but i couldn't knock it for entertainment and drama.

Exactly, it's a bunch of undercard / walkout fights dressed up as a main "event" - Smith must be finally getting the idea Hearn has sold him a lemon, It's piss poor stuff for a so called A level boxing channel - who used to show live classics like Barrera/Morales - it's dropped down the levels and right through the foor.
They paid about 100k out in boxers purses last night I don't know what that like compared to a noam
8 fight domestic show?

86 k i think with reserves.

Undercard? How what that rate to purses on a normal 8 fight domestic show mate?

I missed the quarter finals so can't comment on them, or the "bad judging".

But got to agree about the poor commentary. I was getting wound up with the ass licking of that Larry fella. Just because he was unknown before this, they wouldn't shut up about him and how great he was. Was ridiculous.

Also, I thought the semis and the final were pretty entertaining and enjoyed it personally.

I hate the fact that there was a 'big ticket' guy in there who was meant to win. Clearly the commentary team had been fed the hype by Hearn and were buying into it all. Has happened on a few Prizefighters to be honest. Oh yeh, did I mention I hate Prizefighter?

How many spectators attend a regular domestic show ? (and how much do they pay?).

Regular domestic shows aren't shown on Sky.

Regular domestic shows don't get the kind of sponsorship that Prizefighter gets.

Although the purses sound a lot, Matchroom are coining it in with Prizefighter.

the only fighter that had recently trained to go just 4 rounds was the nigerian, the rest of the fighters had trained to fight 8 - 12 rounds...

Prizefighter sounded good in theory, but it is awful as a spectacle. Not to mention largely irrelevant. To win any other title in boxing you have to box at least 10 rounds against the same opponent.

3 round fights are a totally different game. I don't even watch it. The downside is that the prizefighters take away dates from real pro boxing.

I think it's become a bit like a celebrity reality show, if you're fighting on Prizefighter you are either washed up or a money grabbing wanna b who wants to make as much cash as possible because you haven't got the minerals to any further.

Basically it's career suicide.
