I've got absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who wants to contribute to the destruction of the lives of others through drug dealing. Certain people in certain environments have no choice so I pity them, but someone like Brodie who had a talent? He could've been a coach or a fitness instructor, many of honest livings. But the fast buck always brings people down.

Really. The best comment you've ever read on here? Whilst I wouldn't expect sympathy for anyone I find the comment rather ignorant as far as "on street level" is concerned. I've never met anyone that's been forced into buying cocaine, or indeed takes the drug as a real necessity (like heroin is taken). Bah, its hard to quantify, but cocaine is a drug that's here, and here to stay, no matter what. Were far better trying to educate than eradicate, because the latter will never happen. From teachers to doctors to solicitors to boxers. All at it. As one goes another takes over. More chance of jessica alba and angelina jolie offering me a threesome on the day wales win the world cup than the devils dandruff being quashed from our shores. How long before someone grows cocoa in the uk!!

Pound for pound, the drugs trade is far more destructive. The deaths of those farming the drug, the deaths of those who courier the drug, the deaths of those dealing the drugs, the gangs who fight over territory, the addicts who commit crime to fund a habbit, prostitution and pimping etc...

Let's not forget, drugs fund terrorism! It is the Taliban's main source of income. People tend to just think about those they know when we talk about alcoholics. You need to see the bigger picture.

If it wasn't a banned substance all of the above would be eradicated, if you legalise it you take away their most lucrative source of income, all the cartels would be on their arse.

A jury won't convict him 'beyond reasonable doubt' because he had some telephone calls logged on a phone bill.

I've done Jury service and even if you 'think' he's probably involved, you just can't snuff him out without hard evidence - like the tapes of those calls, or him being red-handed.

It's more than plausible to state everyone knew Brodie, that he was well known and now a taxi driver and that people would book him directly for his taxi services.

He might have not directly been involved, sure he might know these boys weren't making an honest living - but maybe they tipped big and as far as he was concerned he would do his journey get paid and ask no questions. Or he could have 100% known or 100% not known.

But you won't get a jury to unanimously vote 12-0 on such flimsy cases.

True mate. He did the right thing though, didn't blabber on, let them prove you guilty rather than talk your way into a conviction. The police love doing that to people.

I'm sure he knew what was going on, I'm sure of it, but like you say, in terms of actual evidence, I don't think it's strong enough unless they had conversation transcripts.
