He will appeal, but if this is rejected you would think this would be a sad end for Scotland's best boxer in the past 25 years.

His original sentence was for this same crime.

Yet years later, after release from the original sentence, he is tried again and given a further jail sentence???

Nonsense surely. the papers must have got it wrong somewhere

My old flat mate spent 3 years in a Spanish prison on a trumped up charge, they then deported him to Morroco on another trumped up charge from those shitehawks. The guy was never even tried in either country , in the end released without charge.

Aye in 4 years time. I think he has served his time and should be allowed to put all this behind him now, but maybe the Spanish Appeal Court overturns stupid decisions as quick as they issue them.

This was for a different assault. The one he got 30 months for was in 2005. This one was in 2007. This isn't including the stretch he did in Barlinnie in 2008 for assaulting his girlfriend, a police officer and drink-driving offences.

This is surely the end for him now. Wouldn't be surprised if he hits the bevy once again. It was always a possibility that he could still face jail in Spain but its taken so long for all this to get sorted out.

Why is it that some posters advocate the death penalty etc for murderers, yet when it's a boxer they're appealing for clemency?

Harrison sounds like a nasty piece of work so I've very little sympathy. He had the opportunity for a decent life that many would kill for and he blew it. Move on.

He's a mediocre bully-fighter anyway in my opinion.

Ricky Burns is ten times the boxer / human being.

their sentences truly put our justice system to shame dont they? He'd get 3 months for that here, out in 6 weeks.
