He can't be any worse than some of the absolute puddings that have been in prizefighter!

One guy who I can't remember his name, a solicitor if my memory serves me right was possibly the worst fighter I've ever seen live on TV

It always makes me laugh when Maloney climbs up on a pedestal and tries to speak for the "good" of Boxing. Fact of the matter is that for years he brought countless hopeless fighters (with as much talent as Flintoff has!!) from Eastern Europe over to these shores to get a pasting. Criticising a high profile sort like Flintoff though will get him column inches and he's craved that rent-a-quote attention his entire career so nothing surprising here

Well, remember who allegedly, who has a vested interest in allegedly who now showcases David Price wanted to consider his position cause of the Haye vs Chisora thing.... it wasn't Robert Smith, it was the chairman of the BBBoC.

I can't believe this is being held at the MEN! Wonder how many tickets they've sold? Can't see it being many with the Hatton fight being 6 days before it. Also, is there a credible headline event or is Freddie top of the bill?! Some great fighters never top a bill at an arena like the MEN and now potentially Flintoff is doing it!

I wonder if sport is a similar deal that way?

Exactly.

Generically speaking, FM's recent bout of Bunceyism vastly reduces the merit of any criticism he might make.

Whoa Cracknell got cracked there! Never seen that before.

I agree with FM on this one, it is a farce to let a famous Cricketer fight as a Professional Boxer. Maybe they should let him wear a helmet and bring his bat in with him because he'll need it!

I hope he loses badly, but not to the extent that he is really badly hurt. With refs in this country a premature stoppage will be likely (ie when he is hit once), just put Ian John Lewis in there and he'll be fine.

I'm guessing Franks not promoting Freddie then

Don't recall Frank saying the same about Matt Skelton or Howard Daley when they turned pro

If Freddie wants to box then it's upto him IMO, he's got the same right to as everyone else has. I'm hoping he gets in the ring and puts on a performance to shut you moaning women up

COME ON FREDDIE!!!!

you are wrong about this i involed with Matt turning pro and i never made any comments. re Howard Daley is you can show then to me i would be very pleased. I have no trouble with FF boxing but not as a pro at the age of 35 without any experience of being hit on the chin in 10 oz gloves. If is was a celebrity boxing match no trouble as there wear big gloves and box someone of the same .

Have you seen Freddie in action in the gym/sparring Frank?? Presume you must've done to claim the Chairman should be sacked for granting him a licence. Is he any worse than some of the journeymen that are boxing, any worse than these Latvian roadsweepers you've brought over in the past?

NOBODY thinks Freddies gonna win a title Frank, nobody thinks Hastings Rasani/Simeon Cover/Paul Butlin etc are gonna win a title either.

There have been some dreadful foreign opponents brought to this country over the years.

My wife would have put up more of a fight against Amir Khan than that Martynov bloke did all those years ago, then again she used to kickbox whereas that poor bastard probably never boxed. :geek2:
