Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
The interest these days would be sweet FA anyway.
£100k in an instant access account for a month would barely pay Allegedly's petrol bill.

You're right it wasn't but if TB hadn't been paid that would have been used in the 'case' against FW you'd think?dondada wrote:The case wasn't about whether Bellew had been paid.diggler wrote:The Dark Destroyer wrote:How am I wrong? I'm telling you what I read in the articles about it. It's the articles that would be wrong. So the facts are Bellew wasn't paid on time, so why did the case find he was paid then, or do they mean he was paid (eventually)?
Your'e not wrong but your spoiling everyone's fun of taking the piss out of Warren with the truth shame on you

I'm not sure of the time scale and I'm sure that's open to abuse when your promoter is your manager but that's between the two parties to sort out.leforge wrote:Think your wrong mate , how long did it take to get paid. The board rules are within 7 days someone else can clarify this.Final round wrote:Boss don't pay you, tell the world on twitter.?
Smart move by Kev there another fighter in the wilderness.
Tony was paid it all came out in the end. DeGale was paid well
Anyway I understand wanting to get paid on time we all do but whats with this airing it in public lark.

Totally agree. Go to the Board. I am very, very surprised that Mitchell has said anything, actually, if he has. He let FW down re Katsidis and then his court stuff and FW still had him on board.Final round wrote:I'm not sure of the time scale and I'm sure that's open to abuse when your promoter is your manager but that's between the two parties to sort out.leforge wrote:Think your wrong mate , how long did it take to get paid. Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
the sooner the douche is out of the sport the better. if he spent less time making phone calls to people who call BS on him and more time sorting out his fking business then maybe he wouldn't be in half the shit he is. the family clearly couldn't run a raffle let alone a sports management business.
Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
Agree Ian. Furthermore, Kevin lost badly to Burns and he only wants big fights so its difficult to see where he would go even with a good relationship with his promoter. Seems crazy to me (if he has said it).dondada wrote: Totally agree. Go to the Board. I am very, very surprised that Mitchell has said anything, actually, if he has. See Mr Hearn is stirred it up pretty much straight after the tweet by Mitchell. Master poacher.

Yeah, in FW's pomp you had to ring the bloke up on a landline to do that. Technology, eh?broomy7s wrote:See Mr Hearn is stirred it up pretty much straight after the tweet by Mitchell. Master poacher.
Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
I don’t think Powel got mixed up, he had another one of his fighters fight for the vacated belt the night after bellew allegedly vacated it, How long has he been a matchmaker dealing with belts, and he got mixed up? just read it in this article of Terry Dooley’s, here it is.The Dark Destroyer wrote:It was his articles I read, they were good.dondada wrote: Very hospitable of you, DD. Interesting, though, that it ended up being contested by Ovill and Jeff Evans on an otherwise no mark allegedly show in Halifax merely weeks later. I believe the CBC were told that Bellew had vacated to keep it moving and give other boxers a chance - that wasn't true. The QCs didn't share your hospitable view - as I understand it, anyway.
Terry Dooley did some excellent reporting on this.
Perhaps you're right then, I wasn't sure what happened to the title after Bellew gave it up. My thought was what is there to be gained with Bellew giving it up, but you're right, that might be something. You do have to give up the EBU title though, which was the reason given for the apparent misunderstanding if I remember correctly, which seemed plausible enough to me.

FW in 'rubbish human being' shocker.
To be fair, Mitchell should be keeping his gob shut, it never gets you anywhere to shout and scream with these reptile types who love the power. They prefer you to beg.

Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
Technically Kev hasn't said anything about not being paid. The actual tweet was....
"What a shock I'm still waiting! How long ago was my fight??"
We can all guess what he's getting at given the rumours flying around about FW but he could quite easily be talking about a next fight, a hand job off one of the Warren boys or a Big Mac.

Like I said 2 sides to every story.
FW please tell us your side??
Quite easily through small claims court. I do it if my clients dont pay me in business.

Six weeks is good compared to some boxers at present Michael. There's some that have to wait months to get paid by a certain promoter whose cheques must be made rubber because they bounce that often.tear up wrote:Well I got paid 6 weeks after the booth fight with Maloney hell say I'm wrong but I got the cheque 6 weeks later in my name so what was the hold up ill never noAdamj1987 wrote:surly you should have to be paid within a week

I think it's safe to assume Mitchell's purse was more than £5k... His claim wouldn't be eligible for the small claims court....TopGun wrote:liamlion wrote:Can you explain to us all, how Mitchell, or anyone else for that matter, could attempt to recover thousands of pounds through the civil courts with no risk of costs or expense...TopGun wrote:2 sides to every story. Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
Be interested to see how this plays out with both sides of the story being told.
Wonder how much Mitchell owes Warren and could that be the reason he hasn't been paid?
I say this (and I'm just assuming) but wasn't Mitchell skint a few years back, didn't his missus kick him out keeping the house etc and he went on the piss for a year? Been out of the ring for long spells then he and his family had all the trouble with the law (several times I think) - so somebody must have been funding him, paying his bills, helping him out.................

No you can't. You're wrong and there isn't anything in that link you've posted which says anything different. Have a read of it.

Well I have gone down this route before and got paid. My claim was for over £5k. You have to pay £500 and don't need a solicitor if you don't want one.
"If your claim is less than £200, the initial court fee is £27. For a claim between £1,000 - £5,000 you will pay £115, and for more than £50,000 the fee is £500. "
Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
I cant see what the problem is. I am working today, ill get paid at the end of the month for it, if i work overtime today, ill get paid at the end of NEXT month for it. Occupation wise what gives a boxer a right to be paid within seven days? We all have bills and mortgages etc.
Im just playing devils advocate by the way! ....

Re: Kevin Mitchell still not been paid
There is a lot of interesting stuff on this thread. Like most people I think I like to be straight in my dealings. Sadly the boxing business is not so straight. If I engage two people to fight for a certain amount of money then that s what they get. But if I was a promoter I would ask for some leeway on payment until all my money had come in from perhaps Tv and sponsors. Surely that period of time would be in an agreement, verbally or in writing.Problems can occur when fighters seek an advance on their purse, or if training expenses have been incurred by the manager who may also be the promoter. These matters should be getting resolved by MANAGERS. That's why managers should not be promoters!
All the boxing world should know when boxers don t get paid and nobody should fight on their bills thereafter. But when a promise of a huge purse in your next fight is made its hard to turn it down!

F**k 'em mate, keep at not just this but other stuff too. You're far more tolerant than I am. Must be all that weed. How you can listen to all the shite coming back the other way without your head exploding is admirable. I wouldn't give it air time but I understand why you do.Vaudeville Villain wrote:Ian, cheers. No, someone should put one in him. If you do job, you get paid for it, simple. Pay or be paid! These people only take liberties if they are allowed to get away with it.dondada wrote:If true, the fighter needs to make a complaint to the Board! Use the proper channels! Mitchell was the one taking punches in there. I hope Kev gets his money, because this is an absolute liberty.
