I think Wlad makes a mess of Pricey unfortunately. Unless its timed so that Wlad is finished which I can't see happening ( Wlad will retire as soon as has a hint of waning I think )

haye didnt take a one sided beating the first time. He got out jabbed in a couple of rounds and landed the only meaningful punch of the fight.
118 - 108, 117 - 109 and 116 - 110 with a knockdown in round 11 is pretty one sided to me. I like Haye but it wasnt a close fight.
A dubious knockdown and a hint of hometown scoring ( if a round was close it would go Wlads way )

Wlad clearly won but it wasn't anything like a one sided beating!

There isn't a heavyweight out there that would be anything better than a 3/1 shot against Wlad right now and that is probably Haye, a man he has already beat!

As it stands, Haye probably has the best chance of beating him given his attributes but he would lose again if they fought.

We are over rating Price and Fury but that's natural. Wlad would beat both, easily right now and fairly easily in two years ( providing Wlad is still fighting at the level he is now )
He is just too good for the current division.

I thought Wlad's performance on Saturday night was exceptional. Ok, he didn't knock Wach out but I'm sure his head is still ringing and quite possibly, Wach will never be the same fighter again.

This version of Wladimir is pretty much unbeatable right now by any of the current crop. Mentioning Tyson Fury and David Price at this point just shows the lack of challengers. You'd still see Wlad coming in at odds of 1-6, maybe even higher and those would be fair odds.

The only way I'd see Wlad getting beat in the future, is by age. Give it 2 years and see where we are then.

Wlad would be scared shitless as soon as he felt Price's power. Then he would go into his shell, making it far less likely he would commit to the right hand. Once Price gets a bit of confidence he has the ability to land bombs on Wlad and stop him.

The fight is highly unlikely to happen but if it does this is how it will play out.

I think you are getting a bit too excited with Price here. Wlad hits just as hard , if not harder and moves better. His footwork is light years ahead of price. He also has better all round skills. It would be a battle of jabs and I don't see Price winning that battle.

I like Pricey, I really do, but I remember him getting outboxed as an am and also getting bounced off the canvas a few times. Wlad is, and at comparable stages, always has been, a level above the likes of Price.

His chances lay in his power and apparently his size ( could easily be a disadvantage )

Wlad is too fast, too good and too powerful for him. If I were Priceys camp I would sit it out until Wlad retires.

Don't see this at all. Wlad is just a massively overated lump who used to be a good pure offensive fighter against tomato cans who couldn't fight back but now is a limited, defensive, scared spoiler who only has to use ring generalship to win against utter dross opposition. Limited arsenal consisting solely of jab and right hand when he even throws the right. No body attack. Stopped three times, down a zillion times, almost beaten by Sam friggen Peter. Hasn't had to face a live body in years who was a proper heavyweight. Would have been beaten handily by second-tier all-time guys like Witherspoon, Ruddock. Price has enough to fornicate this guy up. Please God make it happen.

What close rounds? Haye went into his shell from round 4 and threw himself on the floor in every clinch

Don't get me wrong I agree with you to a large extent about wlad but I don't think price is the man to beat him. Hopefully we will see soon.

Povetkin stops him in the later rounds - I'd bet Mrs keithmoonhangover on it.

Watching him pick his teeth off the floor after Wlad knocks him out.

I just think he's got the speed, accuracy and combinations to do it.

Independent of what occurs in a match between them, what would change your opinion? If your current opinion is predicated on factors that you've discerned while observing each boxer compete, it should also be amenable to change given that such factors may not be discerned in future bouts.

Can you note bouts in which Povetkin displayed the abilities that would supposedly enable him to overcome Klitschko?

OK, for me it's all about Povetkin.... I honestly think that the best of Povetkin beats the best of Wlad.

What would convince me pre fight that he wouldn't win?

If Povetkin comes in in terrible, he loses, simple as that.

In answer to your question about abilities... Styles make fights and Povetkin has the right amount of movement, hand speed combinations and most importantly, accuracy to get the job done. Not many fighters land more than one punch on Wlad at a time and IMHO Povetkin will land several.

The key to the win is that when Povetkin has a fighter hurt, he doesn't lose his head and get too close, which would allow Wlad to hold. Povetkin backs off a little and picks his spots.

Is that enough or do you want more?

Pricey in a year or so, hopefully he will step up his opponents soon.

Wach held up well against Wlad and shook him the only time he really connected well. If that was one of Priceys right hands I rekon it would have floored Wlad.

If Price works on his defence i think he could beat him. I'm not sure why everyone goes on about his chin, it hasn't been tested as a pro so lets see.

I think Haye is a better fighter than Price at the moment, but he didn;t show up against Wlad last time, so why would he if they fought again?

I would like to see Price fight Wach, think that would be a very good test for Price, then we will have a better idea as to whether he could beat Wlad.

Don't think anyone beats him, if haye were to beat Vitali and get a rematch with wladimir you would have to say he and price have the best chance this time next year but still think they will fall short

The Price love here is down to bias.

In reality he has no more chance than Helenius. Because they are of a similar level. Pulev too.
In years gone by they would all have been high end European class but given the lack of genuine quality in the division, that now passes for high end. Wlad is on the next level up compared to these chaps.

The point i was making was that he didnt take a beating, the kd was a push / fall and the shots landed by wlad were jabs, it was one sided in a points sense but it wasnt a masterclass by wlad that some people are making out wlad just edged most of the rounds through hayes lack of output.

I still don't think Haye possesses 1 punch KO power at HW. He finishes with flurries of punches and put simply he cannot land the shots he would need to against Wlad.

He underestimated how fast Wlad's jab was. I think haye presumed Wlad was a small bit above the level of Valuev in terms of being cumbersome. That he could dance around him and pick his shots getting in and out when he wanted. he completely underestimated Wlad's footwork and athleticism.

Haye is simply too small to bother Wlad, I don't think he could ever beat him. Wlad's safety first approach means Haye would never get inside to trouble him. Having felt that hammer jab aswell i'm not sure Haye would have the bottle to take 2 to land 1 either. It would be another points win for Wlad.

Haye v Vitali would be interesting though, purely because Vitali has vastly declining reflexes. I don't think Haye could knock him out but he could get a UD on points. Vitali would engage him more and his bravado would play into Haye's hands a little more I feel.

Jesus, cannot believe anyone here thinks Haye would do better in a rematch, toe or no toe.

Haye simply doesn't have the tools - what was clearly evident from their fight, is that not only is Wlad way bigger and stronger, he is also technically superior, and despite people's assertions beforehand, a lot quicker than Haye.

Haye also likes to fight with long range shots, and is quite hapless on the inside where he is easy to hit, which plays into Wlad's hands.

Haye simply couldn't compete with Wlad on any level, Wlad is bigger AND better.

Price would have a slim chance, but the liklihood is, that like everyone else out there, he would find it nigh on impossible to actually land anything significant without getting his head boxed off repeatedly.

Wlad will retire as champion, barring a freak injury during a fight, or going on far too long.

Vitali still has quick hands and still throws a lot of shots. I think he would smash Haye to bits.

David Price's best win is Sam Sexton  And you talk about the dross Wladimir faces? Price is coming off a win over Audley Harrison and will next face Matt Skelton. A cab driver from Belfast already beat those two lumps

Both Haye and Wlad were crap in their fight, both fighting with spoiler tactics, but at the end of the day Haye was not out muscled or out fought, Wlad was simply the slightly better of two poor fighters in the ring which gave him most rounds by a slim margin in each round, so saying Haye could not compete on any level is crap, they both competed, just poorly. I don't see how their fight leads to the conclusion that Wlad is that much better then Haye, he could barely hit him and Haye dropped to the floor when Wlad did his usual lean on and tire out opponent bullshit. I would like ot see a rematch because I dont see it as a foregone conclusion, but I realise it would again be a stinker, style make fights . . .

Why do you say this? Price has the size advantages, is deceptively fast and can unload some heavy artillery when he is on the offensive. Wlad on the other hand doesn't throw enough to box anyone's head off repeatedly. Vs Price he probably wouldn't even dare bring his right hand over. Price might need to take some chances to get Wlad's respect, but once he does that Wlad would shut up shop and try and win one of his terrible boring decisions without taking chances.

Also, people talk about the Haye fight as a domination from Klitschko and he did win nearly all the rounds, but every round was won pretty much on ring generalship. How else did Haye manage to hardly get hit at all during the fight? Wlad was poor, but Haye was even worse. And while Haye was boxing on the back foot, he was never more than four feet away from Wlad the whole fight, and STILL Wlad was shit scared to open up. How scared would he be against a bigger guy with superior power than Haye.

Oh yeah, Wlad got rocked by a slow motion blob of shit called Mariusz Wach in his last fight. So please people don't try and tell me Price isn't capable of that.
