Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Eyup, just wondered if any north east (or any infact) boxing fans are heading up to Darlo for the boxing on Friday (At the Dolphin centre)
I'm popping up there to support Stuey Hall, just wondered if any boxrecers are going and fancied a beer or ten,
Hope to see you there,

£30 a ticket starts 7.30 apparently!
Re: Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Great for boxing coming back to Darlo
Re: Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Good main event. Think it could be a good win for Hall though!

Ill be there, good main event and chubzy on the undercard makes it good value for 30quid. Hall's entrance music is worth the entrance money alone.

Would have loved to pop back home. Unfortunately I'm working all day Saturday and it would be too much chew. Have a good unCrazyboy wrote:Eyup, just wondered if any north east (or any infact) boxing fans are heading up to Darlo for the boxing on Friday (At the Dolphin centre)

What do you expect? the main title fight will cost them a fair few quid and the dolphin centre is tiny so there gonna make a loss. Few good kids on the undercard and hepper likes a war.standing8 wrote:Great title fight, 100% awful undercard
Re: Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Exactly - they're all local novices whose fans won't really care who they're boxing - just good to have a card in Darlo again! And, as you say, good old main event at least. In fact, it might be Darlington's first 'major' title fight...?smoggy7188 wrote:What do you expect? the main title fight will cost them a fair few quid and the dolphin centre is tiny so there gonna make a loss. josh in young and hungry, boxed at weight above, hall 30 + lost big fights at a crucial time of his career and not lookin the same fighter ,could be on a downward slope so i go for josh although hall as the home advantage
Re: Darlo on Friday 16th Commonwealth title
Aye, lost against two world class fighters in Haskins and McDonnell, the latter just down the stretch. The only fighter Wale has been in with approaching their class was Galahad who absolutely smashed him.bodyactive wrote:josh in young and hungry, boxed at weight above, hall 30 + lost big fights at a crucial time of his career and not lookin the same fighter ,could be on a downward slope so i go for josh although hall as the home advantage
Hall might be on the slide...he'll have to be for Wale to win.

Thanks mate will do, i'm really looking forward to it. Stuey is a top bloke both in and away from boxing so i really hope he goes for it and wins and gets back in the hunt for the big names again.dondada wrote:Would have loved to pop back home. Hopefully a good do, probably more fighting outside than in the ring as seams to be the case with boxing of any sort in the town. I'm surprised it's back on at the Dolphin Centre as they said it wouldn't be after the riot at Francis's fight years ago. Fingers crossed for Stuey and Hepper

The last time Hall was on at the Rainton Meadows Arena it booted right off in the car park! It wasn't the locals fault but the wannabee pro's on the undercard with the entourage of tramp girlfriends, hangers on and drug dealing pals who rock into town thinking they own the place are obviously going to upset a largely home-based audience.Stevolad wrote:Hopefully a good do, probably more fighting outside than in the ring as seams to be the case with boxing of any sort in the town. It was added after the village elders decided some new blood was needed within the area after many years of close breeding.Fat Git wrote:I didn't know Darlington was in the Commonwealth.
They sent away there 2 best huntsman who came back with twin sisters so the place is no better off.

Hagler - you're not a Hartlepool lad, are you?Hagler2002 wrote:It was added after the village elders decided some new blood was needed within the area after many years of close breeding.Fat Git wrote:I didn't know Darlington was in the Commonwealth.

Village? 80,000 people live in Darlo, FFS.
I used to love Hartlepool coming to Feethams. One of the few places we could justifiably look down on.
