Signed to fight Rees, more likely Burns will fight Broner or De Marco in US next.

You can just imagine the match making meetings at Allegedly Towers.

Frank is chairing the meeting, with Francis and George flanking him, a bit like Dr Evil and Mini Me.

Dean is sat opposite, next to perhaps Andy Ayling and a secretary there to take notes.

Eventually they get round to Ricky Burns, and Dean suggests a man who's never been stopped, with a 30% ratio.

He's cut short half way through, ''steady on Dean, 30%?'', to which Dean replies that he's only ever boxed two opponents with winning records and was soundly beaten by both.

Frank ums and ahs, before asking how many options the opponent has agreed to.... if he's willing to sign five then it's a done deal. Sorted.

Now rinse and repeat for Cleverly.

Karpency would be my pick.

However chances are at this notice it will be better than Liam.

I'll go for John Simpson. He'll no doubt be fit and ready as he is. Surely an easy fight to make. Simpson could easily put on a couple of pounds to make it competitive.

Neither Harrison or Simpson deserve it. I personally didn't want to see Simpson up at lightweight compromising his career v Harrison. And Harrison well the man has ran out of last chances. If either get offered it then they'll take it mind you.

I can Tommy Coyle getting a shot. Hes just been ranked at 15 in one organisation and thats how it will be played but more than likely wrong. 2013 is going to be the year Ricky proves wether or not hes the best.

I agree Simpson doesn't deserve it however he's probably more legitimate than many of the other "step in " opponents allegedly has come up with in the past.

I don't think Simpson moving up would compromise his career. Here is a guy who has lost 9 fights* in his 10 year career yet people tend to overlook this because he is a heart on his sleeve fighter who gives it 100% each and every time. Would a defeat to Burns damage his career? If he gives a good account of himself, he'd probably enhance his career.

* His record says 9 fights however Simpson fans will know there's around 3 or 4 of those that Simpson should have got the nod on.

Walsh was a bad enough fight.. Simpson is made for Burns I don't want to see that. Burns is a huge lightweight.. Simpson isn't that big a Superfeather I think if Simpsons management can keep him away from some of the danger boys in that division then there's no reason why he can get to European level and maybe fight for a World Title.. Nothing more than he deserves. I can't see the Harrison fight happening is he not in jail again? Thought I read somewhere he was back in Spain.

A lot of speculation going about Derry Mathews another bad idea. I like Derry but that's got massacre written all over it. I think it should be someone the Henry Lundy, John Molina or ji hoon Kim someone in the top 15 that he should beat the onto the winner of Broner/Di Marco. The boxing scene is a lot bigger than just the uk.. No doubt we will see it being Ree's or Crolla though ha.

I want it to be Richard Abril but can't see that getting made
