Strange guy is Warren. He's hugely sensitive to any criticism directed against him but he's always more than happy to do others down when it suits him. I do agree with headline of the piece, though. Froch is not a great.

Although I never read the Sun newspaper, I always read Frank's boxing column. It never fails to produce comedy gold and today's is the best in a long time. Only Frank could belittle arguably the greatest run of fights in modern world boxing comparing it with Nathan Cleverly and his run of fights culminating with Shawn Hawk.

I genuinly rate Cleverly as a boxer, but part of me wants him to lose just for the look on Frank's face when it happens.
It also makes me laugh about his continued use of Froch's name to hype Cleverly. Saying he wants a big fight in Cardiff knowing full well that Froch is going for Bute, Kessler then Ward.

Comedy gold!!

as often and as hard as Cleverley gets punched in the face, you can bet that it's going to happen, and my guess is when it does, it's going to be brutal.....

as a boxer froch is definately not great, there are a multitude of better boxers, many of whom froch has beaten!

why?

because froch is a better fighter with bigger balls!!

well then let's see cleverly's run after another average stateside outing.

how about starting with the argentinean, who keeps losing controversial decisions, campillo. then cloud, then shumenov. then after a defeat, let's see nathan go straight into another hard fight...in fact, let's see nathan become a big shot enough for it to be worth it for froch to take him on!

jonhson was froch's worst opponent in the run of big fights (on age and wear), and joe calzaghe - in one of several ill-advised, ignorant media comments - dismissed johnson as a journeyman after pulling 1 of 2 sicknotes vs the walnut-headed road warrior back in about 2004. johnson then won 2 big fights, earning BWAA's "fighter of the year" award.

This is spot on! We all know if Froch went crazy and left matchroom, FW would be clamouring fit his signature, and saying he is the best thing since sliced bread etc etc.
FWs column can sometimes be more entertaining than mr Gilfoids!

Allegedly would have slagged off Glen Johnson if he wasn't George Groves’s opponent.

You can't even compare Froch's fights compare to Cleverly's. Think allegedly should take a look at his fighters before slagging off others.

If allegedly was Froch's promoter. Carl would be the WBO super middleweight champion with 15 titles defenses against a bunch of bums.

Bunny constantly talks about making a big fight at the Millenium Stadium. I'm sure most of us on here know that's not happening after Bunny didn't pay them last time, allegedly.

This is the guy who put fights such as Manfredo / Calzaghe, Cleverly / Karpancey, Burns / Laryea, Burns / Cook. I think he has some cheek.

No mention of bute who in a previous column he tipped to beat froch. What about pascal-what was wrong with him frank?? Its funny as we all no if warren had froch he would be talking about the 2nd coming of clazaghe/taking over the mantle ect.
All Warren has done recently is talk about good fights/name drop just shame hes never actually produced one. And for the record there is no way hes letting burns near broner.

Pascal and Froch were both not that well known when they fought each other. Now look at them. I hope we see a rematch of that fight but I doubt it.

Warren just writes these pieces of shit to get people foaming at the mouth, presumably. And it's worked with me. I've wanted to see Froch/Cleverly just to take pleasure in Carl destroying the Welshman in the same manner as he did Bute (but probably quicker). But Carl doesn't lower himself to that level of opposition, so it's unlikely to happen.
