Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
A couple of things that i don't quite get....
"People keep banging on about the series of tough back-to-back fights that Froch has had. But that’s what he signed up for with Showtime’s Super Six tournament and he was remunerated accordingly."
People keep banging on meaning that people are full of praise for a fighter taking tough fights, doing well in them and getting paid what he's deserved? What's his point? All fights are "signed up for" so any mention of a fighters past career is, by definition, banging on. Should fighters who choose to take the higher risk/reward route that Froch has taken not be applauded for doing so? Why mention remuneration here - it's almost completely irrelevant.
Of Cleverly he says "I’d love to get him a fight with Carl Froch next year at the Millennium Stadium — it’s a no-brainer."
Why would Nathan want a fight at 168 where, (like Glen Johnson) he hasn't fought in years? Or if it was made at 175, what does that say about Carl who has never fought that high? He is using the same argument to slam Carl but demand a fight with his own lesser man. Yes, I know its a promoters job, but its pathetic to the point of being laughable.
And then he implies that Broner will need to do more than beat Antonio DeMarco to deserve a shot at Ricky Burns. The same Burns who stepped up in weight and dropped his belt rather than face his mandatory (Broner). If Broner hasn't already done enough to earn a shot at Burns, then I can't wait for the unveiling of Burns' opponent next month.

FW in 'horrible human being' shocker.
The man is a sad, jealous tool.
Froch = one of the most respect-worthy men in British boxing.
FW = One of the most repulsive, slug-like slimeballs on this whole planet.
Frochy, knock him out.

And just another thing, I think this piece sums up everything that is wrong with British boxing. Petty, old-school characters, back-stabbing and putting down the achievements of one of the best 'no bullshit' UK fighters for quite a long time. FW just needs to fornicate off.

If only W@rren had shown half the courage of Carl Froch when he was managing the career of Joe Calzaghe.
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
i almost choked on my cinzano when he made the comment about calzaghe .... "now theres a great"
was he still thinking that when the court found in favour of JC ??

allegedly is a great channel, great idea nyways, needs to go HD, but without allegedly we'd all be stuck with Matchroom Sky shows. FW just needs to go away and shut up, take a back seat, whatever, he's a bitter, nasty man.
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Frank can go fornicate himself, the horrible bitter little shit
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
I'm not Froch's biggest fan ever but come on. What absolute bollocks criticising his previous opponents.
Last 8: Pascal - Taylor - Dirrell - Kessler - Abraham - Johnson - Ward - Bute.

One word..... two-faced lying twat.
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Without any doubt, he is and always will be a great over here, he has done more than enough to cement his place in British boxing history for a very, very long time. Even though i thought he lost to that backfooting pussy Dirrell, and would certainly have lost to Taylor had he not gassed in the 12th, and lost comprehensively to Ward, he has had a great run of fights beating some great names like Pascal, Abraham and Bute. I personally think he nodded Kessler, and i'd back him in a rematch if they fight again. I also think he might do a touch better against Ward in a rematch if it happens soon, but i dont see him winning. Froch is a breath of fresh air for British boxing, he's showing the up and comming young fighters that the type of hide and seek tactics the likes of Calzaghe played throughout his career is not the mark of a true champion, he's not afraid of any challenge and certainly not afraid to loose. God bless him for that.dondada wrote:He is a British great, unquestionably, IMO.JLP wrote:Strange guy is Warren. He's hugely sensitive to any criticism directed against him but he's always more than happy to do others down when it suits him. I do agree with headline of the piece, though. Froch is not a great.
I expect him to win easy tonight.
Anything Fwank says should be taken with a pinch of salt, he's always trying to work it to suit his end, no matter who he is bringing down in the process. He notes at the end of his peice that Froch turned down a fight with Calzaghe twice, does anyone have any info on this? If true, It can only be down to Warren making an atrocious offer that he wanted to be rejected!

Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Unrelated to thread regards to Froch but allegedly is showing Flintoff fight and Frank is against it in principle. He is not promoting it. So was it other parties involved in allegedly who accepted the fight for the channel or was it Frank after all
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
I dunno about this. Past or present? Look at Ray Leonard between Wilfred Benitez and and Tommy Hearns, or Ray Robinson lots of times through his career (sometimes he took bum fights between, but the guy was fighting every two weeks. Robinson fought Gene Fullmer twice and Carmen Basillio twice, back to back, in 14 months at one point.fasteddie wrote:name me one fighter that has had a run of fights that froch has had against world top ten ranked fighters? there isnt any past or present, fw is a joke
Recently, nobody gets close, and Froch's willingness to fight the best stands up with the bravest runs in history, but it's not unparalleled.
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
FW is a cock
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Wonder what this alledged offer to froch was to fight Calzaghe..."50k, rematch clause with a minimum of 2 weeks notice before fight night, promotes next 5 fights, FW gets a cut of 25% of frochs purse for the rest of his career and 50% of his government pension"....the standard FW offer

Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Having just read this article allegedly strikes me as a very bitter and pathetic man because he has not got the opportunity to promote Carl Froch throughout Froch's 30 fight professional career etc. Froch has been a marvellous ambassador for British boxing and has taken some of the best fighters in his division when it has been (and still is) stacked with talent without taking a "gimme" fight in between them.
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
I can't think of a swear word strong enough to express my opinion on this man. And believe me, I can swear with the best of them.
The Carl Froch's of this world will always be more important to boxing than the FW's. I just try and remember that whenever he says or does something that pisses me off.

You can be certain that if Carl was under the allegedly banner, fw would be saying he was the best fighter ever
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
I can't believe anyone bothers reading the comments of the man who brought Tocker Pudwill to our shores.
Ignore him and his tawdry tv channel and he'll go away.

Think of it another way, if Carl was under his banner he'd be making numerous defences against puddings in Nottingham.reggaereggae wrote:You can be certain that if Carl was under the allegedly banner, fw would be saying he was the best fighter ever
Re: FW slags Froch opponent run, except for Johnson
Quite. Mack has better credentials than Ashira, Pudwill, Sobot, Salem, Thornberry, Manfredo, McIntyre et al.
