Froch/Kessler II
Froch/Kessler II
Gotta be made asap if the Bute rematch doesn't take place.
Froch will avenge the defeat. Seems to be improving at the age of 35!

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Hope it happens, you won't see Kessler going out like that. Bute won't be wanting that rematch.
Re: Froch/Kessler II
Will be a great fight. The first fight was a cracker.
Kessler looks to be slightly on the slide, too.
Strongly fancy Froch to avenge the defeat in Denmark.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Forget Bute, Froch destroyed him and Bute did not look good in his last fight, I think Froch has ruined him, it has to be Kessler, he looked great in his last fight, would be another classic.Terrrrry wrote:Gotta be made asap if the Bute rematch doesn't take place.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Bute should go after Abraham in my eyes. Froch would destroy him again, Kessler has Magee soon.
I think Froch should get Stevenson out of the way first. Keep the IBF belt then fight Kessler in the City Ground in the Summer.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
My gut feeling tells me Kessler is not keen on the proposed rematch, no matter what he says to the media.
If it happens, i also fancy Froch. Has to be soon though.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Kessler is well on the slide and, more importantly, he knows he's well on the slide. If he did decide to go for a Froch rematch, he'd be doing so knowing the chances are he'd lose. He'll only do that if it's a genuine pension stuffer. A career high payday by some distance will be required to get him to sign the dotted line.
Re: Froch/Kessler II
Kessler looked shot against Green.
I want to see Froch up at 175. Leave the rematches alone.

You think a Kessler rematch is a mismatch?LeedsLad wrote:Kessler looked shot against Green.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Not a mismatch, but I think Froch would stop him.
Kessler is one of my favourites (as is Froch) - I wouldn't want to see him smacked around just for Carl to avenge a loss against a shot fighter.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
Just got back from the fight and everything inside the fight programme from Eddie Hearn and Carl froch indicates that they're fully expecting the bute rematch first...Froch is contractually obliged to take it and as far as Froch's team are concerned, they're going to Montreal at the end of March
Re: Froch/Kessler II
With Ward coming off his whipping of Dawson and Froch's last two demolition jobs, I'd pay big money to see this fight in England!knock out wrote:ward tweets that he wants to fight in britain one day so lets get it on
Re: Froch/Kessler II
Got to be Kessler now, hopefully a summer date in the City Ground. Bute won't want it and Ward is horrible to watch, as talented as he is.
Re: Froch/Kessler II
Ward, for me, is P4P #1 across all weights. If Froch avenged that defeat he'd go past Calzaghe, in my opinion.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
I think Froch has learned valuable lessons about what his strengths are since the kessler, and especially Ward losses. He was able to write the Kessler loss off as a robbery, but he couldn't convince himself of anything but the fact that Ward beat him fair and square, and with relative ease.
It's a massive ask for him to beat Ward, as i do believe ward to be a special fighter. However, i believe if he comes out and puts it on him with the kind of head and body attack he used on Mack, he has a chance of pulling out the upset.
I'd favour Froch to take it to Kessler early and break him down over the stretch.
Froch doesn't spend all that time posing around that he used to, he throws punches in bunches with evil intent, and he has shortened his shots nicely, which has increased his speed.

I say, Kessler, Ward, and if he wins that one (a MASSIVE if), then a rubber match, then one more, retirement - goes down as one of the greatest SMW's ever - and eclipses Calzaghe's achievements.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
I'd be quite susprised if Bute's team exercised their option - Bute will get his ass kicked all over again.andeeholden wrote:Just got back from the fight and everything inside the fight programme from Eddie Hearn and Carl froch indicates that they're fully expecting the bute rematch first...Froch is contractually obliged to take it and as far as Froch's team are concerned, they're going to Montreal at the end of March
Re: Froch/Kessler II
If he manages all that then he'd surely go down as the greatest SMW ever, rather than just one of the greatest. Can't see him beating Ward though unfortunately.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I say, Kessler, Ward, and if he wins that one (a MASSIVE if), then a rubber match, then one more, retirement - goes down as one of the greatest SMW's ever - and eclipses Calzaghe's achievements.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
I see Froch taking more digs at Khan in his post fioght interview. He is top of the world. Why is he so bitter
And by the way, Ward did outclass you. I dare his nuthugger in chief to post on here and say differently
I should really love Froch. His last two fights have won me close to 2k but i just cant take to him
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/20383598
on topic- he beats kessler easy

I think he does it to wind Khan up, he knows Khan is super-sensitive and throws his toys out of the pram when people are critical of him.

Re: Froch/Kessler II
I honestly think Froch does to Kessler what he did to Bute if the ever box again .
