jimmy herring

I've been corresponding with some relatives lately about my family tree. I've been told that Jimmy Herring is a second cousin of mine. His career ran from the late 40's to the mid fifties. He was still alive in 2003. Anybody know anything about him? Any info other than what's on BoxRec will be appreciated.
