KO percentages

Jones 77% at Welter
Benn 73% at Middle/SMW
Hamed 84% at Feather

P4P - Prince is strong.
Haye's must be high

Hamed.

He did not need to wind up his punches and could kncok you down and out with short shots.

No doubt in my mind... Hamed.

Colin Jones could hit but he faced Geography teachers from Ghent in some fights so it's hard to gauge, the same with Pat Barrett - Their KOs dried up when they faced top level guys but it's somewhat disingenuous to criticise Jones for not knocking out the likes of McCrory and Curry.

Well, Colin Jones was not at all a good boxer. The punch was pretty much the only thing he had.

Of course, he was nowhere near as likely to land that punch as the likes of Naseem Hamed. But is being able to land a punch part of this discussion? If not then Jones has to be up there because I can't recall many other people who got as far as he did relying solely on a punch with as limited boxing skills as he possessed.

Jones was a good enough to win the ABAs in the amateurs as well as being the youngest to represent GB in the Olympics.
You clearly underestimate his boxing ability. It is impossible to compete at that level without it.

Everything is relative of course. For a man who competed at that level, he was not at all a good boxer.

 His punch was the only thing he had, yet he battled to a 12-round draw with McCrory for the world title and his only significant loss was to Donald Curry, then regarded as the among the world's best p4p? :shame:
