Tomlinson v berry
Tomlinson v berry
Round seven close fight Tomlinson is cut. Probably will 2 points in front but not dominating.
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Berry is making him miss alot..
Re: Tomlinson v berry
After round 9 Tomlinson getting the challenger on the back foot. Plus a point deduction on berry must be 5 points up now
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Good round 10 for will so far hard to see him losing now. Early rounds were close but later rounds a bit easier to score for will
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Round 11 same again Tomlinson too strong hard to see it being a stoppage. But easy win coming up
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Last round now will just pushing berry around the ring , no one has really looked like being koed
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Another point deduction to berry in the 12th will be a very wide margin
Re: Tomlinson v berry
120 105 117 108 119 106 wild will

Re: Tomlinson v berry
That referee was crap. "I know you don't speak English, mate, but...".
First of all, surely for a "world title fight" it wouldn't be difficult to find a ref who speaks English and Spanish. And, if for whatever reason they couldn't find one, couldn't the ref have spoken to him a but more clearly or simply, used more effective gestures etc, instead of rambling on like the guy knew Strine...
It wouldn't have changed anything in the fight but poor Berry looked utterly confused whenever the ref spoke to him.

Re: Tomlinson v berry
Berry is an experienced fighter who has previously fought for the WBA featherweight title. You would think he would know the rules by now.

Re: Tomlinson v berry
Yes, and he was indeed guilty of the offences he was being pulled for, but the referee was also "experienced" and yet didn't seem to know how to conduct himself with a fighter who doesn't speak English. If he had communicated himself properly then Berry may have adapted appropriately. It wouldn't have changed the result at all, but Berry did look confused when the ref was going on.

What is done is done. It's up to corner to ensure a cornerman speaks/understands both lingos...whether he travels with them or locally recruited

Re: Tomlinson v berry
Fair point... was just a bit surprised that was a ref who'd worked "40 world title fights".
On a positive note, that was my first look at Wild Will and he looks a decent prospect. Won well, kept his composure when cut and against a tricky guy. Wasn't impressed with Brad Pitt though. Good power but I think he'll get found out sooner rather than later.

Re: Tomlinson v berry
Wild Will's biggest problem is he cuts so easy. It might result in a tko loss one of these days, even though he is in control of the fight.
Pitt looks great when the going is good but I am not convinced. I watched his fight against Oganov, and I know he lost and people on hear seem to think he had an easy time of uit, but the fact is Oganov went very close to stopping him, and as we know Oganov is no world beater.

Re: Tomlinson v berry
Oganov could not knock Pitt down.
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Brad spent a lot of time hanging on like grim death to Vic, entwined like a tango dancer, before the Victa ran out of fuel.
Re: Tomlinson v berry
he couldn't knock out junior or sonni either.
so?
he had pitt on queer street though before god intervened, lol.

God my arse. Oganov was not good enough.

Obviously brute watched the fight with his beer goggles on...

Is Oganov a relation of yours?

Re: Tomlinson v berry
No, I have said before I think he is limited. I just watched the fight without the being influenced by what seems to be on your part an obvious infatuation with Pitt.Brute wrote:Is Oganov a relation of yours?
It is not even something that is debatable really, if you think that Pitt was never in trouble against Oganov, you either were drunk, or didn't see the fight and are just basing you judgement on the boxrec results.
Re: Tomlinson v berry
Oganov's rabbit punches did not help Pitt, but getting the upper hand for a short time is not enough if you don't go on with it.
With 12 months gone since the fight Oganov does not seem keen for a rematch.

Re: Tomlinson v berry
In case you haven't seen the fight you might like to watch it, particularly from the 14 minute mark onwards. You might notice the knock down and count...I am sure you will disaagree with it but that is a knock down in my books.Brute wrote:Oganov could not knock Pitt down.

I agree with you though. 12 months on a rematch probably isn't in order.
I just don't think all this talk of Pitt not having anyone left here to fight is warranted. To me, the Oganov fight showed he has a ways to go before challenging on the international stage. I thought he went missing a bit when the going got tough, but that is just my opinion.
