Boxing matches at MEN last night after 12pm.

Just wondering what the rules and regulations for boxing past midnight are ? I was the last bout of the night at the MEN arena and I know 3 fights where scrapped after me because of the midnight ruling ? My match was after midnight but was allowed. Strange. I lost by way of a body shot to a good up and coming fighter. Im also retired now after been on the circuit for a few yrs. I have been on some decent bills and always came to have a go, but last night after been in the changing room for 8hrs + then boxing gone midnight i have decidedat the age of say 38yrs old next week. Im happily retired now and proud for having a go. I have boxed amature and pro for 20yrs + so happy with myself for having a go.I Love the sport like most on this site.

It happens occasionally that fights are cancelled just makes you wonder why they dont start the bill earlier or just not have the fights on because surely this really pisses the boxers off that didnt fight.

Thanks for clearing that up i didnt know about the half 12 curfew. Thanks for your wishes. Just say the walk into the ring was dangerous due to all the tv and light cables etc been dismantled. It was like trying to walk through a jungle. Health and safety should be paramount.

3 fights getting cancelled is piss poor, the fighters have worked hard to make weight etc, they are in the zone and ready to fight. yes they will be paid but thats not the point. plus the public have purchased tickets based on what fights were planned, surely if the product is 'not as described' then there is a case for the sale of goods act to come into operation?

Where boxing goes is "subject to change" is the key phrase.

It all comes down to planning, which is where Hatton Promotions are currently lacking.
Its not hard to plan a schedule of contests, if you assume all your 6 rounders and above go the distance, you can have 2 or 3 4 rounders which are either slotted in between gaps or go on after the main event. Assumin 12.30 curfew you start as early as you need to based on the agreed fights. (Which should be a max of 10 by the way.)
Even Rickys own plan was flawed. Surely someone could have said to him "You've got to have an 8 rounder in Nov then we will go for Senchenko in Feb, Malignaggi in the Summer in a stadium fight. Thats the plan. You do the fighting leave the other bits to me. (i.e His Manager) We will have 18k at MEN for your 8 rounder 18K for Senchenko and if you win them both 50-60k at City of Manchester for your World Title fight. Then its one defence max and you retire or at least I do.

I am always astonished at the way fighters after the main TV event are treated. Bad enough having to wait until midnight or beyond but to have camera cables and scaffolding etc dismantled when they are boxing is just plain disrespectful. I know the crews want to get out of the venue but the board should make a ruling to stop this happening.

As I posted the other day all the fights never really had a chance of fitting on the bill. What pissed me off the most was the fact the manchester arena staff didn't have a clue. They tried to kick us out after the Hatton fight. I explained as soon as tv finishes their live broadcast there would be fights till 12.30. A friend of mine in another block got kicked out. There was also a bunch of fans with team jenkins t-shirts on by me who left thinking they weren't going to get to see their man, Jenkins was the last fight of the night against the thread starter. Very poor from the arena and hatton promotions in my opinion. Luckilly I never missed out but if I did i'd be fuming.

Seen poxon tweet that 1st fight is 5.45 & Rabchenko on at 6.10. Guessing a lot of the prospects are fighting after the main event.

That's annoying if Rabchenko is on that early as I was planning to watch Wales v NZ in a bar near the arena before heading in there at about 7pm. May have to change those plans now!

Would presume the reason it's on so early is Hatton's his trainer.

Running order is - M Buckland Rabchenko Buckland Quigg Murray Ricky / Rest floating. Curfew is 12.30am. Clearly not gonna fit all the prospects on unless there's a lot of ko's.

It's quite normal, if you are fighting towards the end of a big show it is always the case.

The whole scenario from been told i was gonna be 3rd on the bill then to box gone midnight has put me off for life lol I retired after that.
Never again will i put myself or wish any boxer at the bottom end of the game to be treated like that. Its ok if your been paid thousands
