anyone who had hatton ahead was just biased. you could tell hatton wasnt going to win this fight by how he was taking senchenkos punches, even at the begining. the jabs were really snapping his head back , making him look really novicey at times. hattons only hope was of getting home with one of his bodyshots ala castillo, but in the end he was on the recieving end.
That's how I seen it. Hatton just threw punches willy nilly, no thought, frantic. I didn't see anything great from Senchenko tbh. A lazy jab, that hurt hatton from early on.
Nah Hatton fought a tactically stupid fight (as he has done in each of his 3 losses), ever since beating Tzyu Hatton has relied on bulldozing tactics, while a capable performer Senchenko was pretty much average across the board except that he was a big strong welter, Hatton could have boxed and won easy instead he fought and got knocked out.

I dont think he fought a stupid fight, hattons fight plan has always been the same one as the Brazilian football teams game plan - if we're great in the middle and can score more what do we need defence for? It worked for the majority of his career and he did alot better against PBF than many others have (even those who lasted the distance). Fact is he used to be durable, had great endurance and was sharp on the attack - age, taking alot of hits and his lifestyle have put an end to that; he tried to do the same he just didnt have it anymore, many posters on here were saying he was showing signs of wear in the PBF fight (i disagreed and have been proved wrong). His only other option was to develop a defence, jab and complete tactical brain; some fighters can do that but they usually have different styles to start with, i dont think it was ever an option with Hatton.

He never jabbed his way in, neglected body punching looking for one big head shot & swung his left hook from three feet away. Exactly how is that technically sound? His timing was so far off he couldn't catch a train...
I do think Hatton would've ground out the win over Senchenko say four years back, but I think he'd've still had nightmares with him. He doesn't like big welters, didn't enjoy Collazo who whilst built isn't exactly a Kermit Cintron/Paul Williams/Antonio Margarito/that bloke who got cold-cocked by Randall Bailey supersize welterweight...
PS: Hatton managed to outbox Urango after he got hurt to the body. Not much to write home about, but shows he used to be able to jab & move a tiny bit...

Im nots saying he fought a great fight im saying he fought the same way he has always fought he just didnt have the same arsenal as before. I cant ever recall hatton having a jab.

No, Senchenko didn't use his size on Paulie, but if you've seen the fight it'd be obvious Paulie wasn't running straight at him squared up, swinging a lead hook from three feet away & then falling in to maul, which was apparently Ricky's game-plan.
Paulie drew the lead, slipped it & outjabbed him, then used his handspeed to bust Senchenko up. Senchenko quite literally didn't know what to do.
We now know Senchenko does rather know what to do when someone fights him like a fvcking moron.
Hatton would have 100% got the stoppage over Shen 4+ years ago. Micky Vann would have been reffing and when FW gave him the nod the little twinkle toed wonder would have done a little tendu followed by a plie finishing with a beautiful pirouette and stopped Shen just before he landed a crushing body blow.
