Hi all
My mate trains a couple of pros out of a gym in his hometown in back room of a weightlifting gym one he's equipped himself ,he does a couple of novice classes a week to pay a sort of rent but doesn't charge the pros a penny apart from the 10% but with the amount of inactivity this amounts to nothing is this the norm in pro boxing because I've said he's wrong in his head ,so do pros pay to train in gyms or is it expected to be free thanks in advance

Re: Training fees
Ok, I don't personally know of any trainers that charge for training their pros. If they aren't fighting that often perhaps they don't need to be in the gym that often either. It is a tricky one. It depends a lot on their purses/if they are any good/Have they got potential/how often they fight etcJakemilo wrote:Yes he has mate
If the trainer is struggling with rent or fees for the gym I'm sure the Pros would understand that a small training fee from time to time would help.
Re: Training fees
Cheers mate that's what he said I just found it strange ,he has a couple of decent lads so I suppose it's love of sport and not the money that drives him .

Jake ,
Most gyms charge the lads subs , even if just £10.00 a week it helps towards costs.

Re: Training fees
I personally think fighters should pay subs as it contributes to new equipment which the fighters need

Jake
Have the boxers /trainer approached any sponsors ?
If the lads have potential this would be an option and training fees / expenses could be factored in
Its a long term return based on the fighter making a name and selling tickets also winning titles so a gamble but it is always worth a shot
