The last fight to draw nobbins

Post by palooka »

Does anyone know when the last fight was when the crowd threw money (nobbins) into the ring, (after the bout)?

Starting reading Boxing News in about 1988 and remember reading about it still happening in small hall shows now and again. Didn't know what the hell Nobbins meant at the time though lol

There was a fight a couple of years ago on tv, a belter. I can't remember between who but I can remember the commentator suggesting the crowd were being violent as they were hurling coins at the boxers

I saw someone attempt to throw a programme into the ring in disgust when John Simpson lost to Stephen Smith at the Kelvin Hall. It went about 2 feet in front of him
