Re: Erick Ochieng vs Terry Carruthers 8th Dec
It will be a slug fest yes m8' but to be honest it's not exactly a world class fight is it ? Its the sort of fight that the pin stripped suit wearing, plastic gangster, beer swilling dinner show fans would love? Terry Carruthers is a good honest pro who always gives it his all and deserves something for all his efforts, my problem is with Sky tv & the promoters, and I'm sure even sitting here off the top of my head I could name lads that are ready to fight around the same time has this billed show or would of took the opportunity either way, the likes of Mark Thompson, Nasser Al Harbi, Liam smith, Navid Mansori, Thomas Costello, Phil Fury, John O'Donell, Stephen Haughian, John Fewkes, the list is endless all lads ready to fight around this time anyway so there be in shape and all decent enough lads and records to deserve the shot.Lenny wrote:You don't think Purdy v Jones will be a good fight?Boxingcutsman wrote:Just Like I said in my last post on the previous thread before opponent was revealed, It's a joke, these whole Matchroom Big Super Shows are a farce. Re: Erick Ochieng vs Terry Carruthers 8th Dec
Terry Carruthers is not able to fight Ochieng now due as he is not allowed to fight for 45 days due to being stopped in PF. Why 45days not sure. So we have to wait to see what happens. According to what I know this could be very interesting.Boxingcutsman wrote:It will be a slug fest yes m8' but to be honest it's not exactly a world class fight is it ? Carruthers was not knocked out in prizefighter, just shook and recovered quickly, as the ref jumped in, the doctor decides the length of ban imposed, but 45 days is usually for someone who has been badly hurt, maybe someone who has been beat up round after round and badly stopped, not someone who fought like a lion, but walked onto a couple of shots and was still fighting back when stopped.

Thompson would be a handful for Ochieng, as would Al Harbi who already tried to get the fight against Ochieng, but was refused and they have been ordered to meet by the board, Liam Smith would be a good fight, but he is with Warren, Mansouri would take it, his opponent as pulled out of his fight, so he is free, Coldwell would jump at it, Costello is up at Middleweight now, not sure of the others, I bet Matthew Hall would have boiled down for it.Boxingcutsman wrote:It will be a slug fest yes m8' but to be honest it's not exactly a world class fight is it ? Re: Erick Ochieng vs Terry Carruthers 8th Dec
al harbi fights the 16th dec in brum and is mandatory for english title (its at purse bids) im sure he wud b happy to step in and fight ochering
Re: Erick Ochieng vs Terry Carruthers 8th Dec
To be fair if we are saying mansouri and smith are good enough(which they are) who drew with and beat these guys? Haughian can't fight for the title . Nas is mandatory why would you throw away that position for a weaker purse and options? The whole glorified journeyman tag is a bit ridiculous when you consider people put forward have had mixed results with tez.phil fury a good fighter was beat quite well by Peter Vaughan who terry beat in turn yet he's one if these guys who would be a better match?

I don't think people are saying Terry Curruthers was not a good match, these people have been mentioned because curruthers is now out, yes, Has Haughian fought for the Irish title, with Irish board ?jonp wrote:To be fair if we are saying mansouri and smith are good enough(which they are) who drew with and beat these guys?
