No. Legitimate knockdown in round 2; short left hook as he was charging in (again), but that was all. He looked gone when he got to his feet, but shook it off very impressively. I was certain he was out from the next shot, but 20 seconds later, you wouldn't have known he had been down.

As predicted, a lot of criticism on here. How many times has someone had their first ever competitive boxing match televised? Not everyone has British Title ambitions, some people just love competitive sport. Leave him alone.

That knock down was utterly hilarious. Flintoff was chasing Dawson round the right with an elevated right as if he wanted to slap his fat head from above before getting popped on the chin


Had a couple of quid on dawson - but he was shockingly poor. I hope both of them retire now Jacamo has got it's logo on a few more TV screens, as planned.

we're taking the mick out of flintoff, but it takes a hell of a lot to keep composure when in a full contact fight. I personally think for a first fight and probably the guys first actual fight since he was at school he kept composure pretty well usually the adrenalin cuts in and panic ensues, to get up when knocked down takes balls. Ive seen chavy muppets coming in the gym before who claim to have had "street fights" throwing punches like a girl throwing a ball, bolt upright with their eyes closed, get dropped or half pinned and then just give up without a struggle. You've got to remember the guy has had no amateur experience.

For a 1st fight in front of a crowd that size i think he did himself and everyone in his team proud.

And another - I can see how people and his team might think it was early but as soon as I saw the two uppercuts the first thing I said (to brother watching with me) was "stop it ref."

What's the point - he'd have been KO'd in short order after that and at the risk of what extra damage, We've seen too many late stoppages in Germany and the US lately where someone could or did get really damaged, maybe for good, and for nowt.
