England - Italy & Mister Ed the talking horse

Post by E »

Just watching the Amateur international between England and Italy and I was horrified to see not only that Ronald McIntosh was still involved with BBC boxing (I thought he had been taken aside and shot like the old carthorse he is), but he has actually been promoted!

He is now the principal presenter!!! WTF?

He talks like he has a mouth full of marbles and a 4 inch thick tongue....

He is not the sharpest tack either, and every one has the right to be ugly, but he's taking the piss......

I don't like McIntosh that much either but i think that's a harsh geezer! Anyway i turned over after the SKY Boxing and by accident found the Amateur Boxing on the Beeb. Had no stamina to stay up and actually watch it though. Any good?

I was half pissed by then but it seemed quite entertaining. Buncey was as high as a kite as normal! Big Ron isn't exactly easy on the eye but apparently loves his boxing.

Seem to remember Dolan had a good scrap and just nicked it at the end by stepping on the gas.

Yeah I like Buncey - he's excitable, he seems high and once he starts talking it doesn't stop...

But he is passionate, a character, doesn't stumble when he talks and knows a bit about boxing. Also (apart from the Audley change of opinion) speaks his mind.

I've changed my mind on whether Buncey knows about boxing... just watching England - Italy at the end, they talk about the pros, and Bunoce says Lamont Brewster 'Absolutely walked through Wladimir Klitchsko'.....

I would say this is seriously misleading! Brewster took a beating for a few rounds and was close to being stopped.... until Wlad came apart.

Also said the Olympics were a 'doddle' compared to the world championships... hmmmm slight exagerration
