Hobson V Haye

Post by JimmyJamJerusalem »

Why isn't this fight listed on either of the boxers records, or in the schedule?? Please say it aint been called off!!!!!!

If it hasn't, who do you guys fancy to take it?? Willaim Hill had tasty odds, so I bunged some cash on Hobson.

I can't wait for this fight its gonna be a beauty. Haye has more ability and Hobson has plenty more experience, especially over the longer distance. I reckon Haye stops him in the first half of the fight, but the longer it goes the better it looks for Hobson.

The bad blood between the 2 camps has made it even more exciting, there is shit loads at stake for both sides

I know this sounds a little daft...but having watched Hobson's last few fights, particularly against Bruce Scott, I get the impression that Hobson is a little timid. He doesnt seem to have much devil about him.

I can see that if Hobson's fight with Haye goes beyond half-way, this is likely to benefit Hobson but I dont really see Hobson as a man who is capable of going up through the gears and stalking a weary Haye with much effectiveness.

Timid Hobson....the same one who bashed Norton in the twelfth round, walked through Moran and Swaby and sensibly outboxed Scott, after baing badly hampered and injured in the first....I dont see that as the sign of a guy who suffers from fear or pain and certainly not timidness.....he wont be running out of the changing room crying like one of Booths other protected fighters 10 minutes before the fight.....oh, and Hobson stood and fought Rothman for nine rounds at 23 year old when Rothman was flying....that aint a timid fighter....timid fighters go to aerobic gyms, spar light and are overprotected.....that aint Hobson....

Yeah fair point. It just appears to me that Hobson is more of a plodding sort of big-lad than a ruthless, explosive, cut-throat type of fighter.

Is Haye even back from Aiya Napa or wherever the hell he was DJ'ing when he should have been training yet? He surely can't pull out twice, although I have a horrible feeling he will.

This is my first contribution to a site I read on a regular weekend basis, I haven’t posted before as I felt I’ve never really had much to contribute to this forum. Never having boxed, I wouldn’t like to get shot down and embarrassed by boxing experts with real boxing experience! So I’m not going to try and impress with my modest knowledge on boxing!

I work in Selfridges on Oxford street, I saw David Haye shopping today with two of the best looking women I’ve seen for a long time, he came into my department and I had the strangest conversaton. It went like this!

Me: Excuse me, your David Haye the boxer right?

DH: Yeah, what’s up man!

Me: Nothing much……I’m a big fan….How’s training going for the Hobson fight?

(strange look on Hayes face as though he’s confused!)

DH: Yeah…Yeah…trainings cool….feeling good…

(could not help but feel he was lying!)

Me: You look like you have a healthy color, you been running them mountains in sunny Tenerife?

(The girls laugh! And an even more nervous Haye says)

DH: No, just got back from Miami yesterday, was out there a few weeks….you should go its wicked.

(Haye was wearing a tight Hayemaker t-shirt, and to be brutally honest I could not see any muscle definition at all! He looked healthy but the healthy you say to your parents when they get back from holiday! A David Haye version of an out of shape Ricky Hatton came to mind! How he is going to make 13st 8lb in 2 weeks is a mystery to me, he looked at least 15st 8lbs and I’m not exaggerating!)

Me: How’s the leg feeling you? I remember that’s why this fight got postponed.

DH: Well…..Its not that great at the mo….. Seeing my physio next week to give me a final assessment….

(Haye looks very uncomfortable and says)

DH: Good to meet you mate, I’m in a bit of a rush see you around!

(And walks off!)

That was pretty much word for word.

I’m know Columbo, but the whole thing was dodgy!

Hope this is as interesting to you as it was for me.

Beautiful! I see fit birds all day working in a big clothes shot. But damm, a fine mixed race bird and a blonde chick! Wanterd to take a picture with my phone but didn’t have the bottle, as I’m sure he still packs a punch know matter what shape he looks in!

Why does none of this surprise me? I hope he's prepared to pay Hobson some decent wedge when he fucks him around again.

Haha...if this is true his trainer must be the worst in the history of boxing. He needs a fornicating slap. Yes.."training" in Miami, no distractions over there. Well I suppose threesomes need a bit of fitness. Thats probably why the women where laughing. He probably jokes to them that this is his training while fornicating them.

Doesn't sound like he wants to fight does it. Too many ifs buts and maybes...it'll be a major surprise if he turns up for this one - what's the betting his friendly doc advises "a rest" next week?

I like Haye, but all the Hobson talk, backed up by zero action, is wearing thin...

He's got his excuse ready hasn't he, can't see this fight happening which would really annoy me. Yeah pull out if you're injured but don't talk all that shit and then not plan to back it up.
Used to be a fan but he is starting to look a right prick at the moment. Seemed to have everyone liking him when he was being a nice guy giving interviews for the beeb but these press releases are making him look an idiot
