Who should be purdys replacement?

Post by Rogers21 »

With Lee Purdy not being fit to fight carson Jones, Eddie Hearn stated on twitter that Jones is in the UK and still looking to fight on the bill, i do hope they find someone as Jones is an entertaining fighter and would be a shame for him to come all the way here and not get the chance to fight.

Theophane will be in shape.

Mathew has his IBO title fight coming up which im sure he wont want to jeopardise and Denton said on twitter he would have loved the fight but with him only fighting last week dont think they would take the risk, would be a top fight though

Its a shame how things have transpired - I think Carson Jones would have been a terrific opponent for Ricky's comeback. Not as awkward as Senchenko.

They probably didn't select him on the fact he battered Brook for the last half of the fight.

Still looking forward to watching John Ryder against Eamonn O’Kane - Think this could be a real tear up as both are very good fighters.

Back to the Purdy replacement - Colin Lynes maybe ? Fight against Purdy was a cracker and Lynes boxed his head off for 12 rounds.......... Struggling to find any other replacement who may be ready for a hard fight after very little notification.

Someone mentioned Theophane which is a good shout but he would need to step up in weight and Carson is a big strong Welter and I think he would struggle but he always keep himself in shape.

i thought Colin Lynes might give some type of measure as to how the purdy fight would go aswell.

Mark Thompson, John O'Donnell, Nasser Al-Harbi. There all fit and due to fight around same time, non have got opponents has yet. Carson Jones isn't exactly a pocket full of tricks or awkward, he's just fit and strong so they wouldn't need special sparring has such to prepare for him, they all have seen him and know what hes about, but Jones would not have a clue about any of them, there styles, strength etc.
It would Also be a big payday and a chance at catapulting there self into limelight, especially if they did a better job than Brook.

True that, will be interesting to see who they get great opportunity for someone to step up and be counted.
