Anthony Crolla v Kieran Farrell press conference

The first five minutes are the best five minutes

Is this the real Joe Gallagher or are we seeing some mind games being aimed at the young challenger ? Don't think he comes out of this in a particularly positive light.

Insults insults insults, what Joe needs to remember less than 12 months ago he was shouting his mouth off Anthony would beat Ricky Burns easily, now he's boxing for the English title.

I've heard some things said in press conferences but this is the first time I've heard a British fighter call his opponent's trainer a "knobhead".

I liked when Farrell said " I am a boxer, what is your excuse " after Gallagher described him as the ugliest man in boxing.

Its verging on the edge of a must win for Crolla - like Billy said i remember approx 12 months ago when he was calling Burns, Mitchell and rees out, and now he finds himself in an english title fight and a couple of convincing losses (fair enough the Sykes one was a 3 rounder prizefighter)

I see Crolla winning it on points

This has the potential to be a great fight. If Farrell can get on top from the off and set the pace he should win, but I still think Crolla will edge it.

I thought it was entertaining banter :D

Joe is just rubbing Kieran up a bit, but he came back with his own. Made for a good press conference.

We shouldn't analyse this stuff to much and just enjoy it. Too often these conferences are like watching paint dry.

personally think it will be a competitive fight early and then crolla will take over and stop kieran late with body shots, shame the fights not televised as this could be a cracker

Yh but every trainer will back his fighter and say they would win won't they ? I've never heard a trainer calling out for a fight and say "yh it will be a good fight, but we'll lose" you think Ricky will beat Adrian Broner (if it ever happens) and Ricky is unbeatable don't you Billy ? Rightly so you should champion your fighter and have confidence, but don't think it's right having a dig at another trainer for doing the same thing, remember Ricky's loses Billy and rebuilding :TU: your comment about the English title was in the context of has if it is nothing, belittling it has such, its a very good step in putting you on track towards bigger things.

Crolla vs Farrell will be a brilliant encounter. Both lads know how to bring it. I have a feeling Crolla will come unstuck.

Gallagher's comments were naive and immature. Fair play he's got beef with Farrell but all the waffle about Crolla winning and being two time English champion is just putting unnecessary pressure on Crolla who frankly HAS to deliver this time. Reminded me of Angel Garcia mouthing off about Danny Garcia pre-Khan...sort of feel sorry for the fighter with their trainers drumming up their own personal drivel at the press conference

Im just drawing the comparisons between the english title and world level not trying to belittle that title sorry if it sounded like that :TU:
