Jones wins this fairly comfortably unless Byrne has turned a corner since his last outing here

Not bad,i hope Byrne is in good shape and doesn`t take a beating like the last time he came in at short notice.

Good to know he was training for a fight and this is a great chance for him to try to see if he can compete at that level.I give him plenty of credit for taking this fight and hope he can pull of the upset

Dont see this going far at all. Once Dean gets Hit he will fight with his Face and you cant do that against an opponent like Jones.. I hope im wrong... Come on Dean :box:

This might be a tight fight coz I think Jones was made to look better than he was against Kell

I agree Billy to a certain extent but i do also think if theres anyplace where Jones will raise his game it will be Britain after all the praise he got for the Brook fight it will probably make him think he,s better than he actually is cos lets face it nobody rates him over the pond plus i dont think Byrne has the ability to hold him off 4th round stoppage for Jones ;;-)

As someone said its about levels, and Dean Byrne has had 4 fights in the Uk and struggled in 3 of them. Carson Jones has beaten 8 out of his last 9 opponents by KO, and only just lost the other one to Brook.

If Jones has stepped off his training and comes in a bit sluggish then Byrne might make it to the final bell, but i can't see it.

This is poor

Does anyone know if anyone better was approached?

Fair enough if there were no other takers

That's coming from Dublin, what chance has Dean Byrne got if the Irish don't believe ? Slim and none.

Terry Holmes - a novice from Graham Earl's camp - had it him in all sorts of trouble, all over the place and beat him over 8.

On that evidence, Carson should straighten him out in three rounds.

I think fairplay for stepping up not seen much of Byrne but will be a good indicator fight for him.
Carson Jones very nearly upset the apple cart last time i think he will become a gate keeper like Ndou on these shores. Was short notice and wont mean anything other than those who bought tickets get to see Jones get a run out.Think some people should take a breath before calling it a joke.
I doubt Jones knocked back Thompson went 12 rounds wi Brook easily the best welter we have not likely to start
quaking from unknowns is he .
