Re: World Youth Championships 2012
The semis will be shown tomorrow on the AIBA you tube channel.Bouts start at 10am UK time.
I dont have details of the number of bouts for Hughie but he is a comparative novice. He boxes out of the Gloves ABC which is linked with Amir Khan Gloves project.
He is the English youth champion at 91KG but he lost in the British championships to Kody Davies of Wales.
The Cuban is a seasoned campaigner and has had dozens of bouts. He was the 2009 Cuban junior champion.

Re: World Youth Championships 2012
The medals have been very spread this time with the russians and England having most boxers left. Surprisingly few boxers left for Cuba, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Ireland.
Watch for the frenchman Sofiane Oumiha at 60 kg. He outboxed the cuban and outclassed the american, giving him two standing eights. The Puerto Rican Olympian Jeyvier Cintron at 52 kg is another favorite. Cuban Alexei Guibert hasn't been as impressive as I had expected but he's still my favorite for gold at 56 kg. At 64 I thought the greek Tsanikidis beat the cuban Kevin Brown but lost 21-20. Guatemalas Lester Martinez who is trained by cuban Julio Gonzalez (1989 world champ) has impressed everyone here, however he has a tough semi against azerbaijans Parviz Baghirov.
The Indian Sandeep at 75 kg looked like a gold medalist in the quarters.
Also looking forward to see russian Andrey Stotskiy against world junior champ Jai Otepaia. In the quarters Stotskiy easily handled another world junior champ, uzbek Oybek Sharipov. The 49 and 69 kg are wide open, wouldn't be surprised if China clinches one gold.
Haven't seen too much of the super heavies, I wasn't impressed by Hughie Fury though.

The AIBA coverage was quite good with an English commentator just sticking to the facts without embellishment-how I like it.
