Freiheit and Daruf both gave an excellent round by round and the Beast won on a split.

it was a close fight.donald came to win.nicolays jab actually won him the fight.114-114 or 114-113 was an accurate reading of the fight.117-112 was ridiculously biased.

Freiheit mentioned on a thread on the current scene that Ruiz-Valuev could be a done deal for December in Berlin. Where this fits in with Ruiz-McBride (which I think should be shown during the panto season) I'm not sure.

From the sounds of it, Ruiz may be in with a real chance against Valuev, who has maybe finally shown that he has little else other than height, weight and good looks to rely on.

I'd still like to see Valuev beat Ruiz, and then probably for Klitchko to fell him.

I am starting to think that maybe Ruiz will wear Valuev down, sounds like the big fellow had some problems last night, some people had him losing although both Freiheit and Daruf had him a 115-113 winner. Ruiz's decent overhand right could catch the beast and send him floundering.

donald jabbed and moved very well.i don't think ruiz could do it as he would be more stationery.good boxers should be able to outsmart him.

Very close one, but if Larry could punch a bit, I think he'd have stopped the big man. He couldn't miss him with the right hand in the middle rounds.
Valuez was pretty much exposed as a one trick poney I thought: rumble forward and club em till they fall over.
If you can reach him, he's a sitting duck for a straight right hand, or even a left hook.

I think Ruiz beats him.

I wonder how much Valuev learned from this fight, they know what to practice on. BTW Ove Ovesen's score was announced inccorectly as 114-113, it was infact 115-113

Valeuv is shit and I always said it. He has been feeding off bums for years and yes, at 38 Larry Donald is another bum and lost only controversially. To those who are all over the Valeuv bandwagon, now is the time to get off before the wagon goes off the side of a cliff and smashes up into a million pieces. He's a freak show, a circus act, that's all.

why is every close fight controversial?because its a close fight?doesn't mean he didn't do enough to win.i watched the fight and larry gave to many rounds away by not working or not getting out of the way of valuevs jab.the top fighters will beat nicolay,not sure ruiz's style is best suited though.

From the pressconference after the fight:
Don King held court at the press conference that followed Valuev vs Donald and stated he would make a protest to the WBA about the majority decision in Valuev´s favor. "The booing crowd saw what the judges didn´t" said King.

"May I remind mr King of a night in Stuttgart nine years ago when the crowd was very unhappy (Botha W12-S Schulz, a result that was later changed into a NC) and Don King said it was the judges at ringside that was closest to the ring and therefor knew what was right or wrong" said Wilfried Sauerland.

This shut King up for a very short split second but he then said the atmosphere was different in the wonderful town of Oldenburg where people really knew their boxing. "Ich bin auch ein Oldenburger" smiled King waving German flags. "When I came here I didn´t look for what Oldenburg could do for me but what I could do for Oldenburg! I love Oldenburg!!"
