Roy embarrassed himself last night?

You must not have been watching the same fight I was covering live in press row.

If he did, why wasn't Tarver able to stop him? If he did as much as you make it sound, why didn't referee Tommy Kimmons stop the match? You not like like Roy, or may go as far and say you hate him or his style, but he didn't do anything last night other than show he is past his prime, but has the heart to come back and fight his way through twelve rounds with the best light heavyweight today.

It is not like the fight was scored 120-108 on all three cards, that would be an embarrassment. What was Jones' scorecards again? No where near that.

Sounds more like "Rory McCloskey" is an embarrassment to the sport. Conduct yourself in a professional manner in the future. Thats a lot of disrespect coming from someone who wouldn't last a round agaisnt Bobby Wright. I can see the headlines now "2-18 Dreadnaught Bobby Wright KOs Rory "I wear a Tutu" McCloskey With Grazing Jab! McCloskey out for Several Minutes!" Get a life.

ive always loved rjj, but i lost all respect for him, when in the last minute of the 12th round he threw almost no punches.. in the last 20 seconds he didnt throw a single punch.. as they hit the canvas to signal 10 seconds left, jones stayed on the outside and stuck his glove out for tarver to paw.. joens wasnt there to win, jones was there to get $$ and stay on his feet. it was pathetic imo.

You don't blow off steam by calling a man a coward. And I was not asking you what the scores were, I WAS THERE AT THE EVENT. I was trying to get you to remember that the fight was not a blow out. I wish you could have heard Jones afterward and been able to talk to him after the fight one-on-one, then your entire opinion would be different.

I am more proud of him as a fighter for taking this fight.

Rory is absolutely right. Jones fought scared and seemed satisfied with getting through the fight without getting knocked out. Even in the few times he was getting the better of tarver, he seemd to hold back fearing he was going to get caught with a stray shot. Although he didnt hurt his great legacy in the long run that night, he sure as hell didnt live up to it.

well no doubt it was great for him to take the fight, but the way he fought it was the "cowardly" part.. i respect what he does for a living but if your being payed 5 million dollars and you want to call yourself on of the great P4P fighters ever, then you better come to fight... people pay to watch these fights, and i beleive he came into this fight thinking that i dont have to win i just dont have to get knocked out... in the 11 round rjj evaded a KO... and then tarver looked like he was going to pass out.. rjj didnt pursue him like a normal "great" boxer would.. and in the last 30 seconds of that fight rjj stood there and put his glove out to tarver for him to paw at, and he didnt do a damn thing... even after hearing that 10 seconds banging on the canvas... neither one threw a punch.. fine for tarver but for rjj thats unexplainable.

For the record I did not buy the fight and don't care to see it at all.

"Mr. Rory McCloskey", in the future please address these childish statements to the "Current Scene" section of the forum where it belongs and leave it out of the "Record Queries" where it has no place for us editors. This is where we update actual information presented, or do research on boxers as requested.

YOU ARE WASTING OUR TIME HAVING TO READ THIS NONSENSE IN THE RECORD QUERIES. GROW UP OR JUST GO AWAY FOR GOOD!!!

STOP THIS THREAD RIGHT HERE, OK!!!.
