You know what that reminded me of? Bowe-Holyfield three.
Except if Holyfield had come back from being beat up to level Bowe again. Both fights the older man fought sluggishly yet detonated fearsome single punches on an opponent they previously couldn't quite budge. Both Bowe & Pacquiao dropped like a sniper had shot them from the fourth row.

Well said kiddajamesmcdonnell wrote:I'm going for a wild prediction - Marquez stops Pacman in 11.
I think Marquez is going to leave everything in the ring and go for the KO, it's probably the only way he wins.
Pacman realises he just isn't in love with the game any more, and cannot take it to the trenches, and either quits or is rescued.
There, I've said it.
Off to but a tenner on marquez WTKO or KO.

They both tried to nail each other to the canvas, which is all I asked of them!
Marquez would have got the same effect hitting Manny with a sledgehammer.
What a shot, in fact I hope they checked his gloves for horseshoes.
Marquez has exorcised the Filipino demons and is now a happy chap, "Manny you're a great fighter (and I just ironed you out hehe)"

"I never thought that Juan could knock out Pacquiao. Juan is not a [power puncher]. He is a very precise fighter, and hits hard but not violently.
He gets you with three shots in a row at the tip of the chin and he hurts you, but not like [what happened with the punch that hit Pacquiao
What happened was a phenomenon"

It is amazing what a burning desire to overturn injustices can do to a man. Marquez was throwing full extension into every single power shot.

I know I'm sad, but if this is genuine--& in truth, it's probably not, after all I'm copy-pasta'ing it from the comments section of a tabloid newspaper's sports reportage, ffs--well... Says it all, really.
Apart from that bit about Amir Khan, natch. & that he's not going to watch any more boxing unless these two fight again. That was obviously stupid.
But, you know.

Probably not a real person, actually wrote:I had no idea who they were until I saw a programme about them and their encounters on the box the other night. I lost interest in boxing a decade ago but these boys played it straight from the heart and had a real go at it. No messing about and posing. And then I look at what we have got here. Yes I know-Amir Khan. I'll wait until they fight again for some excitement in the game thanks. I've no idea who is the better of the two but I have great respect for the way they approached things. That was a war.

mmm it'd be like Diaz but harder. Rios walking into 650 counters a round but still cominmg forward cos he'd weigh about 160 in the ring, just getting the shit beaten out of him till his head fell off.
