Frustrated Fan

Post by bigB »

I am so frustrated and disappointed in Goldenboy Promotions and the way they are handling the Kell Brook Vs Devon Alexander fight.

The fight has supposedly been moved to LA Live in Los Angeles from Vegas which is fine but yet not announced anything by Goldenboy or on the venues website. I can see it on Boxrec and IBF website.

The fight is 39 days away how do they expect to sell 7100 tickets.

I do not want to book anything until they confirm just incase it changes again! The prices have already within 2 weeks gone up by £100. So frustrating!!

Come on Goldenboy!!! I want to book as do my friends to see our kid do the business!!!

I have also heard Lucas Matthysse is on the undercard!

Lucas Matthysse too ....... probably worth the extra $100!!

Yeah you would think that they wouldn't be messing around with 5 weeks to go

I just don't want to bother Eddie Hearn or even Kell and his Dad as they have enough pressure and the hold up is Goldenboy....

I am going even if its £1000 extra but just think with how longs left its not good

Book your flights now to one city and then if it changes, use internal flights. It will probably work out cheaper but i guess it depends on how early you go out for and late you come back

If I was potentially going to be spending hundreds of quid (or thousands of quid), I'd not have any quibbles about asking the Hearns what's going on. Their banner will be flying at the venue, too, I expect. They'll probably be happy to help.

Bob Arum was right when he said you either put this fight on in England or St Louis or don't do it at all. They are not gonna sell s**t in Vegas or LA. I can't for the life of me understand why tv companies don't put more pressure on promoters to actually promote, rather than just book a venue and collect the tv money.

All true. The Yanks don't know Brook and, outside of his home town, they don't think a whole lot of Alexander, so why try and put lipstick on the pig and take it on a parade? Get the fornicator on a spit and roast it where you know the people are hungry enough to eat it.

This is a TV fight pure and simple.

They don't care that no fans can make it, that its right after Xmas when people are skint. They just want to fill HBO's boxing schedule and that's it.

Same with the Super Six, 7 days before Xmas in freezing cold Atlantic City where neither man has any fans.

Wonder if Donny Dome is free? (It was good enough for Johnny Nelson and his massive following)

Mate told me Eddie Hearn has asked for the fight to be put back for 4 weeks due to an ankle injury. Don't know if its just a rumour though.

Do you know when Kell hurt his ankle? Was it before Hearn told you they were just waiting on GoldenBoy or after? Even it was before, I suppose they'd have to have seen how it responded to treatment before making a formal announcement.

I don't know when exactly but I would want a 100% fit a healthy Kell against Alexander.

Goldenboy had still yet announced the fight to my knowledge though.

All there news in on Khan vs Molina or Garcia vs Judah at the moment

Probably will do, or have a stacked undercard/double header - Alexander is hardly a massive ticket seller, and Brook is hardly known in the U.S in relative terms.

They would have been better off having this fight in the U.K Brook is really getting big over here now.
