Middle weight in Britain (& Ireland before i get killed) is great at the minute you've got the 3 elite in Barker, Macklin and Murray then you've got the young up and coming talent like Saunder, Etches, Ryder and Eubank hopefully the latter group find away of fighting each other

Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
Well etches can clearly hit jr can't. But he's got better boxing skill, interesting fight but think etches hits too hard for him
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
Eubank Jr would have too much in terms of skills - but he does like a tear up, for sure, and that would be Etches' hope.
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
Eubank has a lot more to his game than Etches - but if Adam can catch him, it could get very interesting.
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
I would seriously consider making the fight if I was Mick for this reason. For Eubanks development he needs to fight a guy with the power to discourage him from going in all guns blazing and learn to pace himself. Kind of like Haye against Thompson (although Haye always used to find the knockout he was looking for). As long as Eubanks corner are as on the ball as Booth was that day if things go pear-shaped, I don't see a loss doing Eubank that much harm, he'll still have plenty of life left in living off his name.dondada wrote:Eubank Jr would have too much in terms of skills - but he does like a tear up, for sure, and that would be Etches' hope.

Although I would love to see it. I personally dont think Mick will be putting Eubank anywhere near anyone live yet.

Would love to see this one - and I think we will, but too premature right now.
By that I think that both boxers have reasons to see this further down the line.
It is right that Eubank has the skills advantage over Etches, but Etches certainly has the edge by some distance at the moment with power.
Both need to step up the opposition and then in 2013 we'll maybe have a domestic dust up to get our teeth into.

Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
The fact that Etches can punch doesn't mean Eubank can't take a shot; we don't know that yet. I expect to see his power improve a good deal, too. A fight I'd like to see.
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
For me Adam just Etches it
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
Will be interesting to see the bookies odds on this one

Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
Personally hate the idea of two of our potential fighters mixing it up before the correct time for the fight, Etches is pretty good and Eubank is a work in progress, without doubt Eubank has the skills to win but has he the chin to take an Etches bomb?
Keep them apart it's to early.

Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
On Eubank's power: I think he hits harder than he is given credit for. Most of the guys he has fought and gone the distance with have been cagey and experienced. Pryce we know about, Pojonisevs has only really be stopped by cruisers, Carruthers has been around the block, Matthews has never been stopped, Jason Ball was only his second pro fight. I think we'll see Chris' KO%age steadily rise as he settles into the game and sits down on his shots a little more.

Liam Cameron, who posts on here, makes his comeback on Saturday. It will be interesting to see if he can improve under the guidance of the Ingles after previous problems earlier in his career.@markmcgee87 wrote:Middle weight in Britain (& Ireland before i get killed) is great at the minute you've got the 3 elite in Barker, Macklin and Murray then you've got the young up and coming talent like Saunder, Etches, Ryder and Eubank hopefully the latter group find away of fighting each other

Looking for a master class this Saturday
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
wish i could agree with you but i cant, if you have power, it shows early on in your career and not later, as the quality of the opponent improves then so does the durability, although a fan of eubanks style and technique, i have serious reservations about his power, even when he hits 'em clean he does not drop them....etches does. etches is a puncher....his boxing skills will hone themselves in time and with the correct tuition, eubank is a boxer/stylist...his power will probably never come..as he needed to be born with it.JLP wrote:On Eubank's power: I think he hits harder than he is given credit for. very very few fighters develop KO power with age and in the transition from amateur to pro. hit man hearns could not skin a rice pudding as an amateur, although his skills decorated his amateur vest well, his power did not develop until the pro years, this is a very rare commodity.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting he'll gradually develop into the second coming of Julian Jackson or Gerald McClellan, I just mean that I think he has reasonable power and it will show when he learns to sit down on his punches a bit more. He's been matched very hard compared to most lads who turn over and notch up a string of KO wins. He's not the non-puncher some have written him off as is all I'm saying.
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
my arguament is, apart from matthews and allison........all of eubank juniors opponents have been stopped enough times in their careers to suggest that a hot prospect should be putting them away!... and he has not been!!JLP wrote:rhino222 wrote:wish i could agree with you but i cant, if you have power, it shows early on in your career and not later, as the quality of the opponent improves then so does the durability, although a fan of eubanks style and technique, i have serious reservations about his power, even when he hits 'em clean he does not drop them....etches does. etches is a puncher....his boxing skills will hone themselves in time and with the correct tuition, eubank is a boxer/stylist...his power will probably never come..as he needed to be born with it.JLP wrote:On Eubank's power: I think he hits harder than he is given credit for. The stoppage over Fedotovs (who is very durable) will show on his record, which is a shame as Terry O'Connor made a huge balls up.
Re: Adam Etches: "I can KO Eubank Jnr"
This is exactly what I think. His technique will improve, and whilst he's never going to have people retreating round the ring with their chins tucked in like Enzo Mac once did, I think he'll have enough pop to keep them respectful.JLP wrote:
