Dismantlings...

Post by IRLangmaid25 »

What the fights where we have seen a fighter get completely dismantled.

You could say Pavlik was "dismantled" by Hopkins.
Pavlik was undefeated and Hopkins controlled every minute of the fight despite being around a 4/1 underdog, as I remember.

I think I got Hopkins at +350. Fights like that and Margarito/Mosley were ones where I didn't exactly pick them but I cleaned up on the laughable lines.

Easiest fights to bet on for the most money. I didn't think Mosley would stop him but I had no question that Mosley still had the chin, skill, and power to outlast Margarito.

How about: Hopkins-Tarver: http://youtu.be/EXM-H3JE4vM (I would call this a clinic.)
Hopkins-Trinidad: http://youtu.be/WvbJ8kgLW7Q (Thorough dismantling of a great fighter.)
Maybe him versus Joppy and Echols would qualify? (I think they qualify)
Cotto-Gomez: http://youtu.be/-Y4qbGLkfWI (Cotto made this look easy!)
Cotto-Ceballos: http://youtu.be/tJCNewGvz78 (Cotto, a young gun, made this look like a glorified sparring match.)
V. Klitschko-Williams: http://youtu.be/P-_KqPXUsK0 (Williams riding the fame of beating an old Tyson, got a thrashing. Klit looked crafty)
W. Klitschko-Brewester II: http://youtu.be/8gHq2qFKEM8 (What an exhibition of the jab.)
W. Klitschko-Byrd II: http://youtu.be/OaKLlBRMqp0 (This was a sound and technical ass-whooping.)
Pacquiao-Diaz: http://youtu.be/HpjEuKZruM4 (Pacman moved up to 135 and pounded the title away from Diaz. What an ending.)
Pacquiao-Barrera: http://youtu.be/i2TR-TPkfq0 (This is a widely known dismantling.)
Tszyu-Gonzalez: http://youtu.be/V1sgQoBDDf4 (My favorite Tszyu fight. He broke Gonzalez down with crisp power shots.)
Mayweather Jr.-Corrales: http://youtu.be/tYgDG8JZ2rA (Domination.)
Mayweather Jr.-Gatti: http://youtu.be/dpeRlacvPBs (Wasn`t sure whether or not to include this but Gatti was(sadly) a title holder.)

In that Carter-Collins match I mentioned,Collins was down ten times in four rounds. I'm wondering if that's some kind of record.

Interesting choice of Duran-Leonard 1. It was a great fight and a great performance by Duran, but I only had him winning by one round.

It was certainly competitive, though I can't say I can agree with your score, I had it 11-4, giving Ray the last two rounds & can't see anything closer than 9-6. I'd much rather have been Lacy against Calzaghe than I would Leonard in that fight. Great fight, brutal beating on a physical level. He out-boxed, out-fought and out-manned Ray in every way. Granted, it wasn't nearly as one-sided as most examples but it was complete ownage.
