Danny McIntosh v WBO #15 Eleider Alvarez tonight.

Post by turbostar »

10 rounder on the undercard of Jean Pascal's comeback fight in Montreal.
Alvarez is a Colombian who fights out of Montreal (in fact, he's never had a fight outside of Montreal)
He is 10-0 with 6 KOs and his best win is a wide UD12 over Cleverly's last opponent Shawn Hawk.
He's ranked #20 in the world by Boxrec, #15 by the WBO and this fight is for the WBO NABO (North American) title, so a guy from Norwich could call himself North American champion.

I haven't seen much of Alvarez but based on how poor McIntosh looked against Bellew you would expect him to win this.

Who promotes McIntosh? He get a fair few interesting (albeit not easy) opportunities. Interesting career to date.

Can't help but like Danny: honest, graceful in defeat, doesn't duck a challenge, and a good boxer.

Hope Danny does well tonight, he's a confidence fighter so if he's comfortable after 2 rounds then he's in with a chance.. I for one hope he does the business :TU:

In the 1900's a guy from Whitehaven, Cumbria fought and won the Canadian Heavyweight title...

Also what about the Frenchman who won the South American Heavyweight title (http://www.weirdboxing.info/2/post/2012 ... chman.html)

If he doesn't retire he needs a few easier fights.

Not a nice KO that, doesn't look good at the end there does he. Time for his team to start looking after him, needs to get back to British level and see if he has anything left to offer there, if not, retire.
