Winning (or placing) in Prizefighter is probably the best either of the could aspire to.
But isn't boxing all about levels? If Darch could get a Welsh heavyweight title and Lewison
a Southern Area title then they will have done OK. Most boxers are mediocre - it is like
5% have real sublime skills but if you match fighters properly then you could get some
good dust ups.
I think Lewison could go futher potentially but won't - he has always been a heavy set
fella who doesn't love training, what is going to change now is anyones guess. Darch just
needs to adopt a more defensive style with his fast hands and he can get a few more wins.
Neither are going to set the world alight I agree but I would love to see them fight again.
They wont fight again. Providing Ian gets down to under 17 stone I will get him some good fights. I believe if he really commits to training he could get major titles. Remember this is the guy that was ranked number 4 in the world as an amateur and beat Odlanier solis and Robert Helenius
Physique wise he looked awful. Pathetic really. Technically very good and also tough so there's a lot of positives. If I was lewison I'd be embarrased to take my shirt off in front of my MRS never mind a thousand people. His fitness is dreadful and he's wasting his chance as he's 31/32? Get him a nutritionist get him doing more sit ups press ups and simple circuits with the weights. It's basics really and if there's non-compliance I'd wash my hands with him.
