L.A. Sports Arena Card 12/15 RBR.

Post by Rover »

This card is a bit unusual in that parts of it are being shown on CBS, Showtime Extreme and Showtime. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to have one RBR for the whole card. The CBS broadcast will begin in just a bit.

It's just starting; delay because Butler/Indiana went into overtime.

Guevara 10-9. He looks strong. Good boxer. Santa Cruz looks a bit confused so far.

It doesn't seem like Leo Santa Cruz expected Guevara to present a Sergio Martinez style against him tonight.

I am surprised by the lack of activity of Santa Cruz. Guevara really looks sharp.

Santa Cruz might've taken his unknown opponent lightly thinking he'd be able to muscle him like he did to Zaleta. He just caught Guevara giid a second ago though

Round 3; This guevara kid is slick and hits well. Santa Cruz starts going bod, finally. good left Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz comes on but Guevara nails him with a good uppercut. Sants cruz lands a big shot. Guevara lands uppercut near bell. Guevara did land some good bodywork too. very close.

Guevara throws good bodywork. SC does the same. Real good boxing match here. Nice right SC. SC lands well at about :30. Santa Cruz coming on now.

39-38 Guevara

39-37 Guevara. Much stiffer challenge than expected from him so far.

Guevara is really good on his feet, he moves around like Miguel Vazquez in there.

SC shaking his right hand like he might've hurt it. 4th for Guevara

49-46 Guevara. Competitive rounds, but I feel Guevara is getting the better of it a little bit each round and he's fighting his fight in there.

Round 5; Guevara lands and moves, SC lands a good right. Guevara is really slick. Paulie giving everything to his style of fighter. Guevara lands good combos. SC missing a lot. It seems like SC's right hand or wrist may be injure. Nice exchange at the end of the round.

Did the ref say that cut was caused by a punch?
