Colin Hart inducted into HOF
Colin Hart inducted into HOF
Crazy but true, thoughts?
Not everyones cup of tea, and makes some basic errors, but i guess hes stood the test of time, championing boxing to the average joe on the street. Is that enough to get into the HOF though?!?

Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF

He's a bit old school for some, but good on him for getting this .
Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF
Have they run out of deserving inductees?
Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF
I know who Colin Hart is. I know that he seems like a decent bloke. I know that he's been writing about boxing for decades. But I can't remember ever reading anything he's written! I don't take the papers he writes for, you see. So I don't know if he's deserving or he isn't.
P.S. I've heard him working as colour commentator on some videos FW has uploaded. He doesn't deserve to be inducted on the basis of that work alone.

Is Hameds non entry a political one, rather than on sport one.
Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF
Hart's induction doesn't stop any boxers getting in. They always have a non combatant induction. Hart goes in alongside Mills Lane & Jimmy Lennon Jr. I personally don't think he's "up there" with those two but he's certainly paid his dues to boxing. I personally don't care for his writing or punditry but he's been there longer than most.
Boxers getting inducted this year are Gatti, Virgil Hill and Yuh.

I would say Hart has paid his dues, and indeed has become easier to tolerate in recent years. I even heard one interview where he only mentioned Ali three times. Progress.

Too old school for my tastes.
Met him once in york hall bogs. He was styling his side-parting with tap water and comb in the mirror.
As i said, old school.

Besides Colin Hark hasn't said anything about boxing in the present tense for twenty years.

Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF
If Colin Hart has been inducted, anyone who has ever had anything to do with boxing should be inducted. Ridiculous.
Can't wait til the awful Pat SHeehan gets inducted

That Colin is from a Jewish family probably won't have done him any harm in getting inducted into the observer category. Reading through the names on that list is like reading the register at a kibbutz.

That is a bit far fetched aint it ...

Tongue in cheek, mate. I should have included a smiley. It just so happens that a lot of Jewish guys are good at writing and talking about the fight game and have been recognised for their efforts. That's before you start thinking about the great Jewish fighters: Greb being the most notable, of course.Alba wrote:JLP wrote:That Colin is from a Jewish family probably won't have done him any harm in getting inducted into the observer category. Re: Colin Hart inducted into HOF
I just thought I'd correct myself: Greb wasn't Jewish, I meant Jack "Kid" Berg. Benny Leonard and Barney Ross were, though, and they weren't half bad.Alba wrote:Ha Ha no prob, and Zab Judah aswell !JLP wrote:Tongue in cheek, mate. I should have included a smiley.
