he's fun to watch ...very open and bangs a bit...6ft7
ingleby walked right through him a while back. he seems a little fragile but id like to see him fight some brits. why didnt he try to avenge the loss?

Lost in one to Ingleby, points win vs Hastings Rasani?
Hmmm.
Hmmm.
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
I didn't see the fight.
Why does he only fight twice a year when he's already 32 and still a novice?
When I have watched him, I like that he's not like a bull in a china shop. He thinks about what he's doing and is patient.
I don't like that he's not explosive.
Next year he should get out as often as possible (at least 5 fights) and find out if he's going anywhere or if he's just another big guy with a gumshield. Four years into your pro career and still doing 4x2s is not very promising.

Lost in one to Ingleby, absolutely chinned, can't ever see him amounting to much at his age and what he's done so far.
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
Yea a lot of fighters have lost there 1st bouts some by knockout too and come back to achieve thingsTheCobra wrote:Lost in one to Ingleby, absolutely chinned, can't ever see him amounting to much at his age and what he's done so far.
Also I think ingelby hits a lot harder than people realised I'm sure he shook price for a few seconds if I remember rightly? Also many a decent heavyweight gets dropped sparring or in fights comes with the territory in that division?

hes huge yet keeps fighting cruiserweights, why?
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
He's not exactly tumbling over those journeymen either though is he.matko wrote:Yea a lot of fighters have lost there 1st bouts some by knockout too and come back to achieve thingsTheCobra wrote:Lost in one to Ingleby, absolutely chinned, can't ever see him amounting to much at his age and what he's done so far.

No mate I know that but he is huge and seems to have good hand speed was just thinking with him, darch, lewison, dillan if he can overturn his ban etc in the mix some not bad domestic fightsTheCobra wrote:He's not exactly tumbling over those journeymen either though is he.matko wrote:Yea a lot of fighters have lost there 1st bouts some by knockout too and come back to achieve thingsTheCobra wrote:Lost in one to Ingleby, absolutely chinned, can't ever see him amounting to much at his age and what he's done so far.

Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
I think it's more lack of heavyweights in the country and cheaper than to fly 1 in?kells wrote:hes huge yet keeps fighting cruiserweights, why?
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
Same camp as Towers. Who gets the better of the spars I wonder?
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
Yea was thinking that them 2 are not the 2 only heavies there either I'm sure there is 1 or 2 more as well!!JLP wrote:Same camp as Towers. Who gets the better of the spars I wonder?
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
He looks pretty fragile, wouldnt mind seeing Howe fight one of his local rivals like Carl Spencer, that would be a good scrap.
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
It wasn't his first fight when he got chinned off ingleby, ingleby was underrated he was a decent operator but Howe is going nowhere he's chinny that's why he's boxing cruiserweights & bums, been a pro like what? 4/5 year now I mean come on !
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
I think it's interesting that Price is widely believed to be glass in the jawline around here, yet someone is using "didn't he rattle Price for a brief moment" to justify someone being knocked out by a journeyman. If he couldn't rattle a man with a glass jaw sufficiently for you to be sure it happened, what does that say about the chin of someone he took out in a round?
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
sorry u misunderstood me i aint justifying Howe being stopped by ingleby im saying Price was briefly caught by ingleby which seemed to stun him for a brief second so not justifying anyone maybe ingleby as underated due to his record.SamWise72 wrote:I think it's interesting that Price is widely believed to be glass in the jawline around here, yet someone is using "didn't he rattle Price for a brief moment" to justify someone being knocked out by a journeyman. anyone can punch someone and hurt them easily if timing or accuracy is spot on thats all im saying especially at heavyweight i actually like Price and think he will be world champion just heavyweights are so exciting as most fighters have a punching chance!!

He seems to have some really good physical attributes, he has good handspeed
and is big and strong and has power but if your chin is bad as a heavyweight
then you aren't going all that far. Could get to a central area title or an English
title but beyond that - I doubt it.

Was Gaffney still around then? Bloody hell! I thought Neil Kirkwood was a good fighter, reallyJLP wrote:1995-03-11. Neil Kirkwood W Carl Gaffney. Barnsley. fast hands but was really fat! If he got down to 15 stone he would have been really effective
and had done more.
Re: David Howe huge heavyweight prospect
I thought there was about 4 heavies under 1 roof would like to see them Spars, heavyweights always excite me shame there is a lack of talent in uk division but there seems like there could be some decent area title fights etc enjoyed lewison vs darchcanonball1234 wrote:Kash Husain Carl baker Richard towers David howe

17 years since it was last contested, an outrage!!!!JLP wrote: 1995-03-11. Neil Kirkwood W Carl Gaffney. Barnsley. Kirkwood won TKO2.
Didn't Gaffney fight the late Michael Murray for the title as well?
Who's active now that could fight for this? Let's have a Boxrec campaign to bring back the Central Area belt, if there are a few fighters that qualify we could have a tournament?
