Rankings for next season

Post by p4p1 »

I think for next season we need to change the rankings for the season I'm not saying the way they are compiled - though I do think it is slightly flawed. But my main problem with it is that it takes the whole season into account rather than the last 5 or 6 weeks or so which I think makes more sense for a ranking system that is used to rank contenders. Just my thoughts and opinions not a real huge deal but I think it is something to really consider.

Buzz couldn't work out how to get the rankings working in TitleBout. I don't know how to do it either. Maybe Buzz has it sussed now?

Think that's the reason we had to use a different system.

I am not saying the way the ranking are calculated I am more saying that the points from over 5 or 6 fights ago are still used in the rankings

I agree that rankings should be about form. Would make for a lot more work for whoever's compiling them though.

I'd like to see the ABC rankings split up. 4 different simmers each having an ABC each. That'd be cool, and create a fair bit of tension. Imagine say Detroit, Crease, Buzz and Kevo each running a sanctioning body. It'd be awesome.

We had a series of problems with rankings.....so no "alternate" option was available outside of the one agreed upon at the beginning of the season. It will be vastly improved next time out.

As it turns out it our flawed agreement actually held the season together......without it we would have had far more serious problems considering the software meltdown that took place.

I was going to bring this issue up myself at a later date this season. The "points rankings" which I conjured up have proven unpopular with the masses and as such they need to be changed for need season.

Although in their defence, they have been the only constant in this chop n' changin' season - so looking at it from that perspective they have filled the necessary requirements that they needed to.

However, as I previously said they do need to be changed. I will create a poll for which rankings we will use next season - and I will not be including the points rankings as an option.

But thanks for bringing this up, it is food for thought.

That is certainly some "out of the box" thinking right there.

But to prevent a conflict of interest, I would suggest for this idea to work - whoever are the four "presidents" (for want of a better word) their fighters would not be elligible to fight for their Managers title.
- it makes sence to me anyway.

Maybe we'll have a vote on who should be the four Presidents as well. I know everyone likes to have their say.
I will do this toward the end of the season.
