Wilfredo Gomez drew his first match, then won 32 by KO in a row , losing to Sanchez in his 34th fight. In fact after the draw in his first fight it would be another 10 years before he heard the final bell again!!

Forget Lamar Clark, look at the quality of the opponents, Gomez beat nearly everyone he faced by KO, have a look at youtube for his fights

Don't think so Jeff if Allegedly had been managing him 38 of those KO's would have been WBO defences, but the 'Intermountain Heavyweight Champion' tournament features heavily in his career.

If you look at the record of most of the lads he beat the loss to Clark is the only fight they ever had. Poor old Ferron Barr got it rough though he got flattened three times by Clark: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer.

Terrible.

:D don't take it as a personal insult, was just pointing out the difference in quality of opposition.

He only made it to 19 straight ko's before he got stopped himself but back in the late 80's Engels Pedroza was getting a lot of hype for his knock out streak. I remember reading the American mags and thinking he sounded like the second coming. Then he got found out...

Yeah he looked the part as well for a while, but as soon as he went up a level he got found out, some like Nigel Benn can adjust their style and move on to better things, but Pedroza didn't and kept getting stopped once he was worn out.

Billy Fox had a number of KO's around 30 i think, but most of them are now looked at being fixed fights.

Yh I would of said Valero or Gomez, can't think of many more with that Ko ratio and especially against the top level of opposition they faced.

My first thought was Marvin Hagler, until I remembered that he was extended the full 15 by Duran bang in the middle of his run as champion.

It's Gomez.

Daniel Sandoval was the kid I was thinking of, although he's lost before, last weekend was the first time he'd won on points.

Thought I'd look up a likely contender in Earnie Shavers, he had a streak of 27 KO wins starting on 29/08/1970 until Vicente Rondon took him the 10 round distance on 26/08/1972, at a rate > 1 KO per month.

If his fight against Ron Stander hadn't of took place (loss KO5) he'd have had a 37 straight KOs. He had 68 KO wins throughout his 26 year long career (69-95) from 74 wins,
