Those clusters of punches that Khan storms forward with are all well and good but he just commits too much with them. I think Garcia would catch Khan again, probably when Khan is choosing a moment to go on the all out attack.

Garcia seems to have a relentless follow up attack himself so it's to see Khan surviving a crisis that he couldn't last time.

I'd much prefer to see Khan go in with Brook, while Garcia waits for a mega fight with Adrian Broner who already has very little competition in his new division.

Crusader IMO Garcia will never out box khan over 12, danny was obviously getting outboxed before he caught khan flush, it was a good punch and no supprise that khans legs didn't hold out, but if the rematch happens and khan wins ud it tells me Garcia can only win by ko, so if the next one is a khan win by ud it tells me that Garcia got lucky.

Khan gets sparked again, but lasts a bit longer in doing so.

Garcia & his father Angel have Amir's number & they really wound him up last time.

There's no reason to suggest they couldn't do it again.

I agree that Garcia's most probable method of victory is stoppage, but why does that suggest that he needs luck to win? Being lucky means that success was reached through chance; I think it's incorrect to suggest that Garcia won due to chance (see my first post), and even if he loses a rematch he may hurt Khan again, and if they have a third fight he may beat Khan again or have success in defeat. In those cases, I still wouldn't consider Garcia's first win to be a result of luck, even though Khan triumphed in a rematch.

Perhaps Khan would be lucky to outbox Garcia for 12 rounds without being caught as he was in the first bout.

But if khan outboxed him in the next 3 fights would you then admit Garcia got lucky in the first ?

same as before. if they thought khan was any good , he wouldnt be fighting light punching lightweights. kev mitchell would have destroyed molina, so khan beating him easily tells us nothing. i dunno why warren never thought to put mitchell in with khan as it woudve been a moneymaking fight, with mitchell being the winner by ko sometime after 5. realistically khan will only ever win another title fighting the likes of malignaggi

Detonating bombs on your opponents chin isn't lucky no matter how badly you've been outboxed, lucky is getting gift decisions. If Khan went on to outbox him in the next 3 fights then that means Khan has shown improvement.

When did Khan become this master boxer, that can outbox all and sundry?

Kind of agree, but your normally find at the elite level if your a good boxer who can outbox a puncher your stay at the top longer !
Garcia caught khan with a good shot, but khan is better and will prove so by beating him next time and by the end of his career :box:

I love how people act how having a great punch/KO power isn't a skill. Jessi, Garcia Ko'd Khan and I think you need to get over it. IF he beats him 3 times in a row (by the way, on which planet will they have 3 more fights if they are all as clear victories for Khan as you predict?) then yes you could say he is better. But as things stand, Garcia is above Khan. They fought and Garcia used his skill set to defeat Khan.

Yeah. I was going mad reading those posts for a second so thanks for pointing this out.

Also, having seen Garcia in earlier fights he appeared to approach the Khan one differently. The kid can box but seemed to know that outboxing Khan would be a nightmare, and thus looked to sitback and try and time Khan instead, which worked.

why not? khan has been gifted easy fights his whole career. i know that its not a hard and fast rule , but mitchell beat prescott, wheras khan is still shitting his pants at the mention of his name.

Seems like there still a few deluded Mitchell fans about. You would have thought getting pole axed twice each time he stepped up a level would have made them realise! Khan would hurt Mitchell, he has always been in a different league ( and now weight division! ) to him.

seems like there are more deluded khan fans about. you wouldve thought getting KOd twice each time he fought a decent puncher his own size would have made them realise that khan is definately not in a different league to mitchell. mitchell may lack focus and dedication, but hes got ten times the ring intelligence of khan, and if they were the same size i would back mitchell to do him every time.

All the people in this thread who seem to think a 'new' Khan will be 'outboxing Garcia over 12' write as if they have a mental deficiency. How can anyone believe Virgil Hunter is going to change this guy, or the Khan we saw catching shots from Molina is any different or better? Total fantasy.

This is the idiocy you are fighting when you try discuss boxing with Khan fans.

Khan has never 'outboxed' a puncher but they think he can outbox a puncher.

Khan was blown out in 4 rds by Garcia in a 12 rd fight yet Khan is better.

It's unreal. The newspaper journalists are exactly the same. In The Guardian's topline of their Garcia/Khan report they said Khan 'should have won'. Why should he have won?

Agreed.

When you are countered with 'Khan once outboxed Gary St.Clair for the Commonwealth Lightweight Title'.......... you know what madness you're up against.

Exactly - St Claire and Kotelnik. Little men with no punch power, and not aggressive.

Maidana is a decent puncher and also Khan's size.

I'm no more a a Khan fan than a Mitchell fan. I think Khan will lose against Garcia if they fight again.
Mitchell has always been over rated, it goes back to his am days. Good fighter but nothing like as good as his fans think. As for his ring intelligence? I was sat virtually ringside when he made an absolute meal of the Johansson fight. He has always been easy to hit. I thoroughly enjoyed the Murray fight, which is his best win by a million miles.
It's not about lack of focus or dedication, its lack of sheer talent that kept Mitchell from achieving certain things.

Khan has always been better. Look at the achievements of both fighters, amateur and pro. Khan achieved more in the unpaid ranks and more in the pros. Beaten better fighters in the process too.

As for the size debate, well, Burns pole axed Kevin. Amir carries more than enough firepower to get rid of Mitchell even quicker. Different levels.
