christ, make it stop. Danny is going to end up getting really badly hurt at this rate. He's risking his health every fight now, all these knockouts are doing him damage.
Someone close to Danny has to stop this, it's horrendous.

From boxing-heure.de via google translate:
Kreiskott landed many hard hits, which now had a 39-year old "Brixton Bomber" partially disoriented, did even one or two hooks to the finish, but could never seriously impressed Kreiskott much less at risk.

Re: Danny Williams Loses AGAIN - Worst One Yet
@jamesmcdonnell, I agree but perhaps even more damaging than the knockouts are sustained beatings. Three of his five fights this year, including last night's fight and his previous showing not two weeks' past, have gone the distance. Guys like Denis Bakhtov and, particularly, Werner Kreiscott are no great shakes but they are all, at the very least, clubbing punchers.
I've long supported Danny's right to earn a living from boxing. Likewise, if he's just fighting because he loves the game. My view has been that if he passes the medicals, what's the problem? I've now done a 180. I don't want to see him hurt - for his own sake and the reputation of the sport.
Caveat: I have not see the Bakhtov fight or the Kreiscott fight, Danny may have taken the overwhelming bulk of incoming fire on the gloves, arms & shoulders and then slipped the rest; merely being outworked by the younger, fresher men. I somehow doubt it, though.

Good lord, that was abysmal if Kreiskott had any power behind his punch Danny would have been mincemeat.
Saying that he still had Danny in trouble! Someone must be close enough to spell it out to him.

Danny retired in disgust at himself after he was banged out by Christian Hammer yet he's now had two losses since then. Only three weeks ago Danny was decked repeatedly by Bakhtov in Russia and now he's losing to this guy? He's probably already damaged and seems unable to think rationally, and I don't think anything short of death or maiming will stop Danny in this life-shortening folly of his.

Re: Danny Williams Loses AGAIN - Worst One Yet
This only highlights for me the terrible need that boxing has for an overarching commission. At some point fighters who are taking beatings like Danny is, need to have their license revoked.
People highlight the fighters right to earn a living. However, if you are a lawyer and you are incompetent you are disbarred, clearly now Danny is not fight to fight, seemingly at any professional level, so he needs to be protected from himself.
Trouble is, Danny would probably continue on the unlicensed circuit, but at least there, he would not be up against younger, fitter professionals.
It saddens me to see a fighter who almost scaled the very pinnacle of his sport, and showed more guts in the ring than any british heavyweight I can think of, allowing himself to be used as a punchbag by men he would have toyed with 5-6 years ago.
For me, Danny has never been the same since the Tyson fight, he walked through hellfire to win that one, and even in the fight with Vitali, his punch resistance seemed to have deserted him, and every solid shot put him on his backside.
Really, somehow, something must to be done to ensure that Danny is able to remember his career in retirement, because he is heading for serious long term neurological damage, or worse, a beating that puts him in a coma or kills him outright.
Very very sad.

Funny how nobody seems to be saying anything about how Danny refused a drugs test recently on the grounds that he was never going to fight again yet has fought twice since? Very suspect.
I find it heartbreaking that the sport gets worst everyday and find myself wondering wether I`ve spent my whole life watching it through rose coloured spectacles?

I've been shouting for Danny to retire for 5 or 6 years now, and he just keeps going. He's going to end up in a care home in middle age if this carries on. Someone has to tell him to stop.

Yes, much as I love the sweet science, I find it hard to justify the kind of brutality that Danny, and worse still, the sport is allowing to be inflicted on him. It is frankly unconscionable.thaibox uk wrote:Funny how nobody seems to be saying anything about how Danny refused a drugs test recently on the grounds that he was never going to fight again yet has fought twice since? What sane person could justify following such a sport?

He didn't look THAT bad against Bakhtov. He came to win and even put Bakhtov down and him hurt on a couple of other occasions.
Not that I'm condoning him fighting on, of course, and losing to Kreiskott is terrible form.

Re: Danny Williams Loses AGAIN - Worst One Yet
He took a lot of clean shots, though, Oliver (I've watched the fight now, thanks, Carlos).
Broken, punch-fucked men have fought themselves into incoherent, neurological-wrecks for millennia. I can get that: a man's got to eat.
What I can't get is that once a man has clearly gone from being a decent trial-horse to a lame knacker that people are prepared to pay to watch him whipped. Unless you get a kick out of watching a one-sided beating, what's the upside?

(With respect) If he's getting hammered by big punches all the time someone close to him ought to take him to talk to Howard Clark; money's not everything.dookus wrote:I've been shouting for Danny to retire for 5 or 6 years now, and he just keeps going. It's sad to see, Danny almost seems on a path of self-destruction. I don't know, maybe he has some demons and actually wants to destroy himself in the ring? Maybe he is like some real-life version of 'The Wrestler' who can think of nothing else that he can possibly do? Someone needs to stop him, very sad.
Re: Danny Williams Loses AGAIN - Worst One Yet
For a few minutes I thought Tom Dallas (another fighter I feel incredibly sorry for) had at least got a 'decent name' on his resume, and at least it wasn't THAT bad.Larry Walsh wrote:http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Bloke lost in a round to TOM DALLAS
Now I realise the truth.
For fucks sake RETIRE!!!!

Both Bakhtov and Williams are in a race to see who gets to pugilistic dementia first. Both should retire.

It's ironic how Danny used to struggle to motivate himself when he was in his prime, would suffer incredibly with pre-fight nerves, and admitted he was pretty much pushed into boxing by his father, and now that he's washed up he can't quit.TheCobra wrote:It's sad to see, Danny almost seems on a path of self-destruction. Yes, I'd say that fight was a greater indictment of Bakhtov than Williams, actually...Fat Git wrote:Both Bakhtov and Williams are in a race to see who gets to pugilistic dementia first. Both should retire.
