Steve holdsworth's commentary on Eurosport reminds me of Terry Wogan's jaundiced and world weary delivering during the Eurovision.

Precisely. The idea that Eubank, Benn and Watson would have toyed with him is laughable. Actually the man who i think would have given him the hardest night is Watson, - big, strong, athletic, and could punch. Benn would I think have been knocked out after a good start, Froch would have taken some bombs and survived to rally.palooka wrote:Froch would have fit into any era; it shouldn't hurt to give credit where credit is due.
Eubank and Froch would have been a war. I'd have picked the post Ward Froch to just outwork him, but it would have been very very close.
Eubank was a great fighter, but his level of competition was largely garbage. Had he faced the kind of competition Froch faced, i.e the best of his own era, his reign would have been truncated.
No way would he have beaten Nunn or Toney. Nunn would have won by wide points decision, and Toney would have outskilled him - just too good. Only RJJ was good enough at SM to do beat Toney.
