The reason i stopped ? Well quite a few reasons but the main one was the time it took, the time it took to track some fighters down and sort the interview plus type it up was becoming more and more hassle ,plus i wanted to get more involved by going down a different route...
Is 2013 gonna be the year of the Shark?,i do hope so
it could be, but i think that Jon Slowey will go up a level, while John Thain could do well if hes kept busy ... thats just my opnion of course.

ProBox Scotland seem to be doing a very good job at the minute something quite similar but on a bigger scale.. We need this kind of stuff in Scotland promote the lads..

2013 is deffo the year of the shark watch this space big titles by the end of the year.. What a ring to it and New British Superfeatherweight Champion Ronnie"The Shark" Clark... And hopefully in Dundee :)..

Agree on Jon Slowey he's a bit like John Thain both very good boxers.. Hope to see Slowey making featherweight as everyone is saying he can maybe a fight with Davey Savage Jnr.. Scottish Title I know Kris Hughes has it but surely he's not fighting at featherweight again..

.
Well i will agree, Pro box do a good job but needs a wee bit of a tidy up round the edges ....but that will come in due course . although you have your obvious bias,if you look beyond your fighter and look Scottish wide . The media really don't pick that much up boxing wise ... unless you push it in there direction.

A lot of the locals are good ,but you really have to engage with them ,and a lot of the media don't have a dedicated boxing writer/correspondence ,but this is much the case elsewhere in the UK.

but scottish boxing is small on the grander scale, which is why i believe we should all be supportive of each other, but as others have pointed out to me there that isint the case. shame

If i was still doing the blog i think i would be busier now than i was previous though ...

so Ronnie was offered the fight with John simpson? If that is correct,i find it strange that he would knock it back considering how many times he,and his family are on here saying that they will fight anyone and dont want to fight journeymen etc etc.

but they knocked back a fight with John Simpson ? maybe one of his family can clear this up ?

It was wrong in Feb I agree.. Would need a proper training camp for a fighter like John Simpson.. I think a counter offer was made for a 2 fight deal but rightly John is looking for the bigger fight that he deserves.. What a fight it would be but its a no lose fight for Ronnie and not really much to gain for John.. If John stays at Superfeather I'm sure we will see that fight either end of 2013 or early 2014 hopefully for a big title... Any news on Paul's comeback is he back in training Billy?

It was offered and initially rejected as Ronnie is fighting in Dundee in March.. With Ronnie being the headline hear it was too close between the shows. It was not put to Ronnie at that stage.. A counter offer was then made to do a 2 fight deal as Ronnie has said he would fight anyone.. I think this was offered without speaking to John who doesn't want to fight Ronnie just now.. He has earned the right for bigger fights and Ronnie needs to get up to that level.. I have said the rest above about this fight

what date was it proposed for ? The next morrison show is Feb 16th i am assuming that is it ? that would be roughly be 6 weeks from now ... that is a good offer and unless you have a better opponent lined up for the dundee card of course ...

good luck either way

It was offered back and rejected. I don't think John wants to be fighting on small hall shows.. John doesn't want to fight Ronald.. Sometimes promoters/managers offer fights without speaking to the fighters then it gets rejected this is life.. Ronnie been offered a few fights accepted then the fighter has said no.. I want to see them both fight but fully understand John wants to be fighting a British/European level and Ronnie looking for Scottish title at minute.. I think everyone in Scotland would love to see this fight.

No opponent as of yet hopefully hear soon and it's looking like it will be for the Scottish Title

From what I got told Ronnie was offered the fight over 10 rounds in which Ronnies management wanted it as a 6 rounder fight as it was not for anything and Ronnie would be doing 10 rounds in the March on a home show in which in truth is more beneficial for Sweeney Promotions. Also Simpson makes super featherweight easily as from what I have been told. Ronnie would have needed to do on the day weigh in as its not a title fight :)

I mean a fight in Feb then win, lose or draw a rematch for the Celtic title.. Like I said this is all hearsay as John has stated publicly and to myself on twitter that Ronnie is a good fighter but he feels he wants the bigger fights surely he deserves that with his past record..

A good fight between Clark and Simpson if it happens,Clarks the bigger hitter but not enough to trouble Simpson who's work rate is superior a points win or late stoppage for Simpson, another good fight would be Clark V Roberts Jnr this is a hard one to call but I believe Clark might have the upper hand his attitude to succeed has to be admired. He reminds me of Paul Appleby when starting off

I was offered the fight with Simpson for January on a televised show 10 rounds and rightfully I said no! I said I would fight him 6 rounds in January and win lose or draw a rematch in march for his celtic title but it was refused :s

I am confused in this sport and I notice alba trying to have a dig at me ;) I know I'm not ready for John Simpson but I do know if I was to fight him I would do my hardest to win it :p

One thing I do know about Ronnie is he would within reason fight anybody,he sparred very well with Ricky burns and showed improvement and a desire that some just don't bring.Good luck to you :TU:
