Brian is, as far as I know, still in one piece. He trains almost every day, either running, walking or cycling in Blackpool's Stanley Park. He also hits the bag a few times per week, too. I've included a YouTube clip below where he does an impromptu 30 secs on the heavy bag whilst dressed in a suit. Not bad for 77/78.

If you've ever been to Blackpool on a stag do you may have been in one of the premises he owns (but does not run), Liquid Lounge or Mammas Restaurant. If you're an older guy, or just interested, back when Brian both owned and worked in the premises it was called the 007 club.

He most certainly doesnt train everyday anymore. His condition is deteriorating and at best can manage a fast walk around Stanley Park. Still there mentally. Living legend.

How times have changed when London challenged Floyd Patterson for the he was fined £1000 for taking the fight against the boards wishes, nowadays the board can't even stop a fight between Haye and Chisora , A banned boxer and a boxer without a licence with them.

£1000 back in 1959 was a big' ol sum, and must of hurt London to pay it.

Glad to see he made the most of his ring earnings to set himself up in business, i remeber he was on the Frank Skinner show a few years ago, and gave a very funny interview.

There are plans to do ‘An evening with Brian London and special guests’ event in 2013, most likely in Blackpool, where Brian will talk about his career. It was meant to happen in 2012 but didn’t for various reasons. I’ll update on here as and when it is confirmed and give more details.

That's sad to hear. I've got family in Blackpool and I always ask about Brian when I see them. I suppose it may be getting on for 12 months since I've visited them, though, although I have been in town to watch the recent Brian Rose fight.

Thanks a million.Glad to hear he is out and about.Im here in Ireland,dont know if he ever travels this way.Brian was a proper heavyweight same as Floyd Patterson,Henry Cooper,Joe Frazier etc. Thats when we had proper boxers.Love to know about Bobby Neill,Wally Swift or if they still are to the good. Lads like London,Swift etc should always be remembered.

There was obviously very real needle in the ring. As I understand it they had very little contact with each other outside the ring.

Is that the County Cork Mick Leahy.? He beat Sugar Ray Robinson at the end of Sugar Rays career

yea bruv it is the mick leahy from cork, he was a lovely guy and sad how he ended up as he had dreaded alzeimers,he lived in coventry for years as his family are still their.

I holidayed in Blackpool in July and I had Brian's address...So I popped around to his house....He welcomed my wife and I, into his house and made us very welcome. I had some photos done with him and he signed 3 photos and my autograph book as well. He isn't in the best of shape but said he still ran every day...However, after around 20 seconds of punching his bag, that he has in his garage, he was out of breath...So I would say that he does not run far.

when we had the do for mick leahy i asked brian if i could have his address cos had some photos of him to sign but forgot to bring em :( anyway he said no worries,just put em in a sae and send em ! i did and they were back within a cpl of days and two extra he signed of his own as well,true gent
