Is that it Chris ? Any more or less stupid than some of the crap you come out with ?
Yet to see in too many years to mention a post from you that could in any way be called constructive. You might think it stupid but I am happy to stick my head on the block and say if Ty had ploughed his own field he'd be far better off today than where he finds himself. The kids got talent so maybe you should take a look at the reflection in the mirror and wonder why the likes of Curt get chances and your lad doesn't.
Maybe it's PPM.

Nurse is a talented kid, but his management have been brutal.

I could have beaten some of what he's faced so far.

When he beat Baz Carey on a Maloney show a while back (probably four years ago now) I thought he'd do really well, but isn't any further ahead.

Instead he took several steps down in class, and was later soundly beaten by Amar in Prizefighter. No wonder, when the step up was huge.

Why haven't his management taken a fight on short notice, or for short money, to get him in the mix?

They're all the same, Allegedly is the worst.

I tweeted him about a year ago asking for a better opponent than Karpency for Clev.... two minutes later I was blocked.

Don't agree, Tyrone Nurse has had a lot of fights, 20+ in a short time and was unbeaten until the 3 round final of Prizefighter, a lot of prospects are not getting many fights nowadays, they must be doing something right, he has the tools, the defense and skills, don't forget he is still young, why the rush to step up, I don't know what people want sometimes.

He beat young mutley and Dale miles before Adel Anwar, you forget that bit, with Adel he got his tactics wrong and Adel is the best LW in the country, Tyrone Nurse is still young, he has time on his side and looked great in prizefighter, I am sure he do some good things this year.

Im not taking sides here but Curtis only knows how to have a tear up, and if he had his way i suppose that's how it would always be, but bottom line is that's not good for anybody's health or well being long term, after all this is only a sport. I personally don't begrudge him a easier fight and think its good managing by Dave. I know that if your son/fighter was involved in brutal tear up after brutal tear up you would do the same, anybody would, I've knocked Curtis myself in the past which himself & Dave know about but he showed me to be wrong and he has got my upmost respect now, Imo he's a good lad. Also I can't see in 25-26 fights spanning the last 4years or so you haven't refused a fight for what ever reason or had the chance to put your lad forward for a title ?

Get real, and I find it quite funny you having a pop at my record, I'd have a look closer at home first, tyrone is a good boxer but hadn't boxed anybody with a pulse before prizefighter and was about 20-0 still fighting on dinner shows for peanuts because you wanted to build a sexy looking record, maybe if you did a better job as his manager you would of done what dave did and ring the board up and try and secure your son a shot at the vacant english title, you didn't so that's your problem not mine, ill be concentrating on my fight in feb I suggest you concentrate in getting your own house in order
get real woodhouse...we offered your team this fight ...if you had a pulse your team may of taken it...miles sparked u and ryan would have beat u without the knockdown...tyrone 23 today wud have beat u when he was 12 ....two donkeys makes a derby...your team know your level and thats why you patchy record against moderate opposition speaks for itself....if teams like yours would accept fights we wouldnt have to keep bringing people in from abroad killing time....saw u were looking for some sparring ....give u £100 to come do a 12 rounder nxt week or week after or week after....cant have it all sorted yet surely....
Luck the scoring, anything other than a Woodhouse victory over Ryan would've been a travesty.

The entire press row had Woodhouse pissing it.

Exactly Jon, it's a easier fight than some others out there but not a walk over at all, I think Curtis deserves a non tear up for once, like my post above said, good managing by Dave IMO :TU:

I take it as a big complement that me fighting a unbeaten 13-0 kid is seen by some as me and my team taking a easy route, it wasn't too long ago I was ridiculed by pretty much everybody in the game so it's a good sign of how far I've come and how I'm now perceived, this won't be easy by any stretch, I'll train like a champion should train and as always leave it all in the ring, may the best man win :TU:

Question for Chris Aston and Saf - if your lad was offered a fight with Frankie Gavin would you take it ?

The Tyrone Nurse situation is a strange one - by all accounts he is a talented lad, so I don't understand why he is fighting the people he is fighting (particularly if he is a good ticket seller - surely his management should get him better fights).

I understand the concept of starting your career fighting journeymen to build a bit of a record and also the boxers confidence, but there must be a cut off point and surely after twenty odd fights he should have fought somebody ? (excluding the Prizefighter).

The way I see it, this can have 2 possible effects - either the boxer gets used to getting things all his own way and when he does eventually step up and his opponent fights back then he might not react as you would hope.

Also, there is the confidence issue - does his management have confidence in the lad, and also does the lad think that his management have confidence in him (if so, why not get him proper learning fights) ?

The way he is going he could have over 30 fights and be nowhere near a British title.

Just looking at the schedule on this site, after all his comments by his dad, Tyrone Nurse has a Central Area fight next - a good move you might think, until you see that his opponent has a record of 7-2 and has lost his last 2 fights !!

I think you will find Naji and Nasser already excepted a fight with Frankie, though illness ruled out Nas, that was when Frankie had no title, don't know why Frankies name was brought up in the first place anyway ? Ask most welters would they fight Frankie for his British title ? Most would jump at it, Tyrone is a LW so you should ask would he fight the LW british champ ? I bet he would, anytime. Not all fighters avoid more difficult matches, sometimes, if they are talented they can't get 50/50 match ups or step up fights, unless they have big promoter with big pockets and Tyrone and Nas are very talented, very.

I mentioned Frangie Gavins name in the context of this thread - ie. Chris Aston was complaining about lack of opportunities.

Woodhouse (who himself is a Light Welter) accepted a fight against Gavin, I just asked if others looking for opportunities would do the same.

I cannot comment about Nasser (who is listed on this site as a Light Middle) - all I know is he hasn't fought Gavin and Woodhouse has.

I am also not saying that "fighters avoid more difficult matches" but it is clear that their management do or put obstacles in the way.
