Re: Best Aussie Matchups
The less obvious ones to me are the Green v Delisle bouts, Rabah v Lovemore. .eapai v Wilson and Leapai v Cronje. Recent times maybe Pitt v Oganov.....I would need to scan the archives to select a top 25 but I think most of what has been said previously is pretty accurate.
Re: Best Aussie Matchups
Good calls on Rabah-v-N'dou and Pitt-v-Oganov there mate.

The best Aussie matchups rarely happen these days. Much easier to import a can that presents no danger and maybe a meaningless title thrown in.
Re: Best Aussie Matchups
I didnt see the bout but from what I heard Bryant v Fletcher was a cracker !!

No sign of this changing either and as soon as these boxers fighting tomato can after tomato can step up they get absolutely slaughtered. It is a trend that keeps repeating itself over and over and proves nothing.thunderfromdownunder wrote:sad but trueTrainInsane wrote:The best Aussie matchups rarely happen these days. I agree with you 100% , aside form guys like Katsidis, Geale and Darchinyan nearly all of our prospects are spoon fed until they get a ranking and them thrown to the wolves. Sometimes it's not their fault, there isn't enough mo ey to get decent opponents to Australia all the time. But even then I guess if they really want to make a go of it they can always relocate

Re: Best Aussie Matchups
Those 3 you named are notable exceptions. But there are some here who have made an whole career out of fighting cans. Not sure who they think they are kidding.thunderfromdownunder wrote:TrainInsane wrote:thunderfromdownunder wrote: Yeah mate, been about 6 months now I guess

Nothing like brotherly love.
Kevin Thorpe was called the "Shark Hunter." What did that make Steve?

The green v delisle fights, both, were beauties as long as they lasted.
