tom collins - mark kaylor
i cant find a video of this one on youtube, but was it the one when mark completely ran out of steam before the finish? could hardly stand up because he was so knackered?
quite a good dust up before that if i'm right

He just wasn't big enough for light heavy but ironically was too big for middleweight.
I don't really remember him tiring, just taking a steady methodical beating before getting stretched for the count, harshly. Obviously that will tire you out (!)
Felt sorry for him, he was too late for super middle, where he would have been suited.

i'm sure a film exists as i remember seeing it again some years ago on telly. kaylor blowing badly must be my imagination
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
No it definitely exists. I watched it a while ago (got it on DVD along with all his other fights).

phew! i thought i was going a bit soft. someone should stick it on youtube. have another look at it and tell me if kaylor is shagged out and then gets decked by collins
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Well he definitely looked tired but it was more due to eating right hands for 8 rounds before the final right hand and shoulder than left him in a heap.

fair dues
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Ive got the fight on dvd.
Its a good fight, i had Collins slightly ahead, kaylor won the first 3 rounds but Collins gradually took over. The right hand that knocked out Kaylor was a sickening punch.
Collins however after this fight, was heavily outmuscled and outgunned by Jeff Harding.

I watched Collins-Harding the other day, and came to the conclusion that Tom definitely quit. I know he claimed he had asthma, but it looked very much like Harding could just do what he did, but better, and all he could see ahead of him was several more rounds of pasting.
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Yeah he definitely quit.
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
I wasn't so sure at the time; I thought of him as having a big heart, but with hindsight, it really looks like it.
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Easy to use the word but like you say, clearly decided discretion was the better part of valour.
Harding was limited but tough as old boots and is the worst sort of guy you want in front of you if you want a brawl, he would gladly oblige.

Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Not seen this since it happened but didn't Collins claim he was punched in the throat and quit? I remember him landing some decent right handers on Harding with no effect, which probably doscouraged him even more.
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
A while ago I watched MArk Kayloe related Youtube vid where he reckoned he always suffered from depression after a fight. He sat there sulking in the studio after a (winning) fight and said very little. Anyone would have thought he'd just been KO'd by a flyweight
and his wife was answering all the questions. Weird shit
Re: tom collins - mark kaylor
Collins staggered Harding badly from what I remember in the 2nd round, one more punch and i think Harding would of gone down. This fight was very similar to Mancini-Frais.
