apparently it is in sunderland now. that could be a significant advantage to dolan. was in houghton which is technically sunderland, but will probably get the more hardcore 'mackem' there now.
Re: Jon-Lewis Dickinson v David Dolan - British CW title
Houghton is in Sunderland also Newcastle have no good boxing venues that hold 2000,Paullow wrote:apparently it is in sunderland now. that could be a significant advantage to dolan. was in houghton which is technically sunderland, but will probably get the more hardcore 'mackem' there now.

ah, so was that tweet from 9 hours ago just confirming houghton mate? also, dont know if it can host boxing, but could sport central northumbria have been a possibility (or certainly for future events)? obviously hosts the eagles basketball and according to wiki it is multi purpose covering other sports like volleyball, squash and badminton. 3000 capacity.phil5555 wrote:Houghton is in Sunderland also Newcastle have no good boxing venues that hold 2000,Paullow wrote:apparently it is in sunderland now. that could be a significant advantage to dolan. was in houghton which is technically sunderland, but will probably get the more hardcore 'mackem' there now.![]()
Out of curiousity, JDL make no secret of his preference of a north east fight "and preferably newcastle", so where realistically would he have been hoping for? i can't see the arena being a possibility at this stage of his career, so from his point of view would he have been looking at the O2?
It's good that some fairly decent boxing is returining to the region, i hve been lookng on boxrec locations and there does seem to have been some decent fights in sunderland over the years - so credit there. certianly beats the 'return of the c$sh' / 'farewell' cards we have been getting of late

Good post the Northumbria centre cost wise is a fortune o2 is a poor venue and not big enough and no good for tv,Rainton meadow arena holds 2000 plus ,and are great to work with .

Re: Jon-Lewis Dickinson v David Dolan - British CW title
Up to now we have a few North east lads on Peter Cope V David Lake a good North East,Derby,Also Gary Fox,Criag Dixon,Chubzy,Ben Jackson,Paul Archer, ,maybe Glenn foot . and Frank is looking to put a chief support before the main event so looking like a great show for the North East.fantaheed wrote:any word on the undercard yet phil?

Heavyweight Gary (Highland)Cornish will be chief support on the bill.
Re: Jon-Lewis Dickinson v David Dolan - British CW title
looking forward to this phil excited by the card! what weight is cope fighting at he looked massive in last fight? and i hope peter cope has the same standard of female fans as normal
hope cornish gets a good test as he is a fighter who could either reach british level or be exploited in his first test, would dave ferguson not fancy this? he should be in shape

Heard from a normally reliable source that travis Dickinson is fighting in a 6 rounder any truth in this? Was surprised after the cut he suffered but heard he has recovered well and is straight back out.

When Loaded covered the Rose v Webb fight in December, they filmed everything. They showed the main event live, then showed the undercard over the next two Fridays.
Re: Jon-Lewis Dickinson v David Dolan - British CW title
aye, that was because the deal was only announced on the tuesday before the fight on friday. i knew they were showing it the next week, but i didnt bother watching any of the undercard. i would hope they would have a longer live show this time, but if it was only the hour for the main event then i prob would watch the undercard the following week (as i am from northumberland and will get to see some local talent and prospects), but had it been the lincolnshire equivalent to the fighters then i definitely wouldnt watch it, especially if i had known the result, had to wait a week later etc.craigstephen wrote:Paullow wrote:

it's class that loaded are picking up these main event british (or commonwealth) title fights that we wouldnt see otherwise, and certainly not complaining, but it would be good if their future shows last 120-150ish minutes rather than 60. we will wait and see.
their next live show comes from scotland on monday 21st jan

It would be good if the programme was longer, we'll just have to wait & see. Also the coverage and picture quality should improve. As you said the last one was decided with a couple of days notice, the lighting rig at the venue was not as bright as it should have been and I'm sure they'll sort that for the next show.Paullow wrote:

The St Andrews show on the 21st isn't live unfortunately. It's being shown the following evening, so stay away from the result!!!

We all know the results, all the home lads win on points 60-54 or 40-36!craigstephen wrote:It would be good if the programme was longer, we'll just have to wait & see.
