IMOP He looks way scarier then Mike Tyson could ever hope to look.
he looks like 500 miles of rocky road.

Looks almost like a Richard Avedon photograph.
Notice what looks to be a scar on the right side of his neck.
from an old knife wound?
Did he shave his head?
makes Isaac Hayes and Earnie Shavers look like a choirboys.

Sonny Boy,,,,,,,,was the coolest fighter ever.

He 'played' the fool at times, but Sonny always knew what was in the deck.

He 'fooled them all' in Miami Beach and Lewiston, Maine.

Well if you mean that many of us were fooled (until those moments), that he had "true grit"....I would agree.

He was a great fighter, he proved he had a fragile psyche.......and of course not the only example of same.

When I first downloaded the photograph,I thought he was dead,and the photograph was taken on the coroners table.
Until i noticed the date of the magazine(December 1969).
Not exactly a "young" 37 .
